*PRESENT*
Josh sighs. I know he can tell I'm lying but I also know that he knows better than to push for answers while Nicks here.
"I tried... But she just flipped me off and made me leave her room," Nick says sadly.
Josh nods. I can tell he's trying with all of his might not to laugh at that, he hates Nick and loves when people flip him off.
"Just try and get her to take it," Nick sighs. He puts the medicine bottle and cup of water in Josh's hands. Then, Nick whispers something in Josh's ear and leaves the room.
Once the door is closed, I speak, "What did he say?"
"Nothing," Josh says. He sits across from me on the bed.
"Josh..."
"Jen..." He mimics my exasperated tone.
I huff.
Josh huffs.
I go to kick him and accidentally use my bad leg. A searing pain shoots up my leg and through my back. I scream out in agony. About five doctors rush in but Josh shoos them away.
"What did he say, Josh," I ask through gritted teeth. I know Josh knows that I'm getting mad.
Josh sighs and looks away.
"Josh..." My voice becoming angrier.
"He said that he's still fighting for you..." Josh whispers.
"What?!?" I say, astonished.
"You heard what I said," Josh deadpans. He turn and looks me straight in the eyes. His expression is full of sadness, longing, and hatred.
