*PRESTENT*
He's still fighting? What the hell is that supposed to mean?
Confusion must show on my face because Josh begins to explain more, "It means he wants you back, Jen. He still, like the last time, wants to be your boyfriend."
Bewilderment. That's all I feel. Nothing else. My brain seems to have shut down because I didn't process a word Josh just said.
Josh sighs and hold out his hands, the contain the pills and cup of water. "Take your pills?"
I shake my head.
"Then I'm leaving."
It's as simple as that. I take the pills and Josh stays or I don't take them and he leaves... Forever possibly. I sigh and grab the pills and water from his hand. He seems a little bit happier but not completely.
"What are you so angry about?" I ask once I finished the pills and water.
"Nothing," Josh replies curtly.
I sigh and lean back on the bed.
"Your leg okay?"
I nod, even though it still hurts like hell.
Josh stands and starts pacing around the room. He runs his fingers through his hair often. That's how I know he's still upset. I just don't know why. What could cause him to be so upset? Did I do something? Did I say something? Can I do or say anything to help? Will the questions be answered? And if so... When? I know I can't ask him now so I settle with something I know I can achieve, "Josh..." I say my tone soft.
He looks up and me, "Yeah?"
"Are my parents going to come back?" I feel like a little kid when I say it. Asking when mommy and daddy are coming home.
Josh sighs and walks back over to my bed. This time, though, he sits next to me and wraps his arms around me. Just like he did the first night he came back. It feels so good to be in his arms again that, for a second, I forgot what I even asked.
