I feel the car come to a halt and my stomach flips. I'm excited yet scared to find out what Ryan has planed. He told me before we even left the hospital that I wasn't going to like part of it. I told him to get that over with first. It was worse than I imagined. We went right from the hospital to the restaurant where we meet my parents for dinner. I wasn't very hungry and my parents lectured me the whole time about how starving myself isn't going to make the cancer go away. I was so pissed i took my mom's salad and started eating it with my hands. The dinner consisted of yelling, crying, and Ryan's laughter. Dinner never officially ended. I told my parents to go fuck themselves and they got up and left. Ryan payed the bill and then we left. Now we're here. Ryan says I'll like this, that it might even make me cry.

"Okay, Jen," I feel Ryan's hand on my back as he helps me out of the car and onto the ground. "I got us as close to the place as I can with the car. We have to walk the rest of the way on foot."

My stomach collapses into itself. "I-I can't walk far, Ryan."

"I know you can't Jen," He says with a laugh. Ryan turns so his back is facing me and crotches down into a squatting position. "Hop on!"

I laugh, "Are you serious?"

"It's this or I carry you like a baby. You choose."

I wrap my arms around his neck and gently slide my legs up his body and around his torso.

"All good?" Ryan asks while standing up.

I nod then remember he can't see me. "All good!"

It takes me a while, but soon I realize where he's taking me. Suddenly, I'm here but in a different time and in a different condition.
"Jen!" Ryan says, placing a hand on my shoulder. "You can take it off now."

I reach up and pull the blindfold off my head. What awaits is beautiful. We're at the top of a cliff. Which explains how hard it was to get here. Their is a picnic set up and not to far from it something that looks an awful lot like a bad attempt at a bed.

I turn to Ryan and smile. "Did you do this?"

Ryan smiles and nods.

I laugh and wrap my arms around him. He doesn't hesitate to do the same. "What's all this for?" I say, my voice muffled by his shirt.

"You. Me. Us." Ryan says against my hair.

I tilt my head up and look him in the eye. He smiles then does something that I wasn't expecting. He leans in and kisses me. Full on the mouth. His hands push my body closer to his and my hands hold his head against my lips. His lips taste soft, like butter, but with the flavor of something sweet. He pulls away but keeps his face an inch from mine. "I had to do that," he whispers. I lean in and kiss him again, hard.

"Ryan," I whisper, my lips against his ear.

"Yes, Jen?"

"Are we going where I think we're going?"

He tilts his head up so he can look me eye and smiles. "Yes, Jen. We are going where you think we are going."

I smile and turn my head to look at the trees. It's beautiful out. It's also fall. I never noticed that until now.

Ryan helps me off his back and sets me down on the ground.
