"Jen Nick is here!" My mom shouts from the bottom of the stairs.

"I'll be right down!" I shout while applying another layer of mascara. I tighten the strap of my dress then grab my purse and head down stairs.

"I feel underdressed," Nick says playfully as I walk down the last three stairs.

"You look fine!" I say walking up to him and kissing him.

He pulls away for the kiss and laughs. "I'll have her home by 11:00!" Nick shouts to my parents who are in the living room watching dumb and dumber.

"That's fine!" My dad shouts back.

We laugh then walk out to Nicks car. He opens the door for me then quickly gets in and begins to drive. "Where are we going?" I ask.

He smirks then reaches over the center council and grabs my hand.

"Tell me!" I whine.

"You'll see!" He grins.

I shake my head and turn up the radio. Soon, I begin singing and dancing in my seat. When Nick knows a song, he joins me.

Play the lotto you might win it.
It's like 25 to life so you bust out of prison.

Something's in the air, something's in the air

It's like that feeling when you're just about to kill it,
Take your last shot you know you're gonna hit it.

Somethings in the air, somethings in the air

Whoa oh oh oh oh

Something big I feel it happening
Out of my control
Pushing, pulling and it's grabbing me,
Feel it in my bones like

Whoa oh oh oh oh whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh whoa oh oh oh oh whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh
Something big I feel it happening
Oh whoa oh oh oh whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh whoa oh oh oh oh oh whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh
Something big

It's like that feeling when you're 'bout to win the medal,
And you worked so hard that you knew you wouldn't settle,
Hands are in the air, hands are in the air.

When they hear you when you thought they wouldn't listen,
It's like an anthem that the whole worlds singing,

Hands are in the air, hands are in the air.

Whoa oh oh oh oh

Something big I feel it happening
Out of my control,
Pushing, pulling, and it's grabbing me,
Feel it in my bones like,

Oh whoa oh oh oh whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh whoa. Oh oh oh oh whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh
Something big I feel it happening
Oh whoa oh oh oh whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh whoa. Oh oh oh oh whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh
Something big

Whoa
Yeah, yeah

If we stomp our feet,
The ground will shake
If we clap our hands,
The walls will break
Yell so loud won't forget our names
'Cause something big is happening

Take this spark
And start a fire
Raise this up
We're feeling high
They can't tell us anything
'Cause something big is happening

Something big I feel it happening
Out of my control
Pushing, pulling, and it's grabbing me,
Feel it in my bones like

Oh oh oh oh whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh Oh oh oh oh whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh
Something big is happening whoa
Oh oh oh oh whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh Oh oh oh oh whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh
Something big I feel it happening whoa

About six songs later, we pull into the parking lot of my favorite restaurant. Mateo's. "OH MY GOSH!" I gasp.

Nick laughs and gets out of the car. He helps me out and leads me into the restaurant.
We talk the whole time. About school, our future, what we are doing tomorrow. As we talk, we eat the linguine that we ordered to share.
•~•
We pull in front of my house at exactly 10:45.

"You know," Nick begins. "You don't have to be home for another 15 minutes."

"What are you proposing?" I ask smirking.

He grins and leans in and kiss me. It turns into a full-on make out session. Neither one of us pull away until we hear a knock on the car window. I sigh and turn around slowly. There stands my dad. I roll down the window and bite my lip.

"I just came out to let you know," he has a stern look on his face but I know he's only joking. "You have to be home in 5 minutes."

"Yes, Sir!" Nick say saluting him jokingly.

My dad laughs and shakes his head. Then he leans into the car and whispers "You two better use protection." Then walks away back into the house shaking his head and smiling.
