*PRESENT*
"Okay, Jen. Just lay perfectly still and it will be over before you know it," Doctor Suvil says.
Im having a cat scan. They said I need to have one before they can find out what kind of surgery they need to do. Surgery. I hate surgery. Even the word gives me goosebumps. I hate doing this alone, but they made Josh wait in my room.
I feel the "bed" I'm laying on lift up and move backwards. This tube with flashing red lights starts to spin around me. It's making me dizzy. I don't like this, at all! I close my eyes and will myself not to cry. This isn't exactly comfortable. It ends, to my great pleasure, and I'm walked back to my room. There, Josh embraces in the tightest hug. It lasts a while.
Doctor Suvil finally speaks, "As much as I hate to break up this little reunion..."
I blush and I see a hint of red appear on Josh's cheeks. We pull apart but Josh keeps one arm around my back.
"We will be doing more tests on Jen tomorrow."
"What kind of tests?" I ask, Interrupting him.
"Let's sit down," he replies.
Josh and I sit on my bed while Dr. Suvil pulls a chair over to edge of the bed.
"You will be taking a total of 4 tests tomorrow."
My body goes stiff. FOUR?!?! I had one today and I that was only a cat scan. I thought I was gonna die on that "bed." Josh senses my nervousness and rubs small circles on my back. This calms me down a little bit.
"What kind of tests?" Josh asks.
"Tests similar to what to what she did today..." Doctor Suvil begins.
"So, x-rays," Nick says. He walks in, whispers something in Doctor Suvils ear, and then pulls up a chair and sits down.
"Why do I need more x-rays?" I ask, my voice shaky.
"We just need to make sure the cancer isn't spreading."
"I have cancer?!?!"
"Yes, osteosarcoma is a type of cancer."
The room disappears before my eyes. All I see is black. I hear voices thought. Strange voices. I don't like it. Not. One. Bit.
