*PRESENT*

"So Jen..." Nurse June begins. "Nick tells me that you don't like to open up to people... Is that true?"

"It is."

"And why is that?"

"I just feel like they won't be able to help me. That whatever they say I won't do so its just a waste of time and just another person that has to worry," I sigh and pull the covers up so they cover my shoulders.

"Well..." Nurse June begins. "Did you realize that you just opened up to me?"

I. I just. I just opened. I just opened up. I did it! Wait... She tricked me. "You tricked me!"

"Yes, but wasn't that easy?"

I nod. Honestly, it was.

"I just wanted to let your know that you can talk to me about whatever you need help with. By the looks of it, I think you might want to talk soon."

I laugh and she joins me. "Yeah..." I trail off.

She smiles and then stands. "Just tell Doctor Hoult when you need me and I'll come as soon as I can."

I smile, "I will thank you."

She smiles and walks out of the room. Out of my window, I see Nurse June talking to Nick. Nick laughs, shakes his head, and then... Suddenly... A stern looks grows on his face. Nurse June says something else that must have really ticked Nick off because when she said that Nick walked away towards the staffs break room.

I turn in my bed and reach for the radio. I push the on button and a voice fills my hospital room, "It's Noon-Tunes time! Our first song today is How to Get the Girl by Taylor Swift!"

I sigh and turn the radio off. I hate that song.

*NICKS POV PRESENT*

I push past June and walk into the break room. I cant believe Jen talked! She never talked to me! It couldn't have been anything personal. That's not Jen. Well, when we were dating that wasn't Jen. I don't know who Jen is now, I guess.

"It's Noon-Tunes time!" The Djs voice blares through the speakers of the break room. "Our first song to day is How to Get the girl by Taylor Swift!"

I sigh, grab a bottle of water and walk out of the door. I hate that song.

*JOSHS POV PRESENT*

I've driven around this town about twelve times. When the nurse asked us to leave the room, I listened. But instead of just leaving the room, I left the hospital. I just need some time to think. All I can think about is my conversation with Jen. I keep turning it over in my head. From the moment I walked into her room. From the moment I walked out of the hospital. I know I should've have left. Jen will probably be wondering where I am. I sigh and push the button to turn on the radio. Just one more drive around town, I tell myself. Just one more.

"It's noon-tunes time!" The all to perky Dj says. "Our first song today is How to Get the Girl by Taylor Swift!"

Jen hates this song, I think to myself. I don't know why, but I've been doing this the past couple of months. Every time someone says or every time I see something, I associate it with some memory I have of me and Jen together. I guess you can say I have a lot of memories... Well, we've know each other since kindergarten. I sigh and turn the radio up louder. I'm not a huge fan of this song, but it's the only song on. I would just turn the radio off but then I would have to listen to myself talk to myself... And any song is better than that.

Oh Oh Oh.
Oh-oh.

Stand there like a ghost shaking from the rain (rain).
She'll open up the door and say "Are you insane ('ane)?"
Say it's been a long 6 months
And you were too afraid to tell her what you want.

And that's how it works.
That's how you get the girl.
And then you say.

I want you for worse or for better,
I would wait forever and ever,
Broke your heart, I'll put it back together.
I would wait forever and ever.

And that's how it works
It's how you get the girl, girl...
Oh.

And that's how it works
It's how you get the girl, girl...

Remind her how it used to be (Yeah, yeah)
With pictures in frames of kisses on cheeks (cheeks)
Tell her how you must have lost your mind. (Uh-uh)
And you left her all alone, and never told her why (why).

And that's how it works.
That's how you lost the girl.
And now you say

I want you for worse or for better,
I would wait forever and ever (ever and ever),
Broke your heart, I'll put it back together (together).
I would wait forever and ever (ever and ever).

And that's how it works
It's how you get the girl, girl...
Oh.

And that's how it works
It's how you get the girl, girl... (Yeah, yeah)

And you could know (Oh-oh Oh Oh)
That I don't want you to go oh-oh..

Remind me how it used to be.
Pictures in frames of kisses on cheeks.
And say you want me.
Yeah...

And then you say,
I want you for worse or for better (for worse or for better),
I would wait forever and ever,
Broke your heart, I'll put it back together.
I want you forever and ever.

And that's how it works
It's how you get the girl, girl.
Oh.
[x4]

That's how it works.
That's how you got the girl.
