"There is a saying in Tibetan, Tragedy should be used as a source of strength. No matter what sort of difficulties, how painful experience is, if we lose our hope, that's our real disaster."

-Dalai Lama

The day dawned crisp and clear, It was morning in Kingdom Persia located in the Asian Part of the world in Jeroboam, the sun had poured through her window. Another day bringing new hopes and aspirations - at least that was what she thought.

"Oh, rudev!" her name was mentioned from the hall downstairs. This didn't still get her to leave her bed, she was still sleeping as far as she was concerned even if she heard the call.

"You said that you would wake up early today!" The same voice said again.

Rudev wouldn't budge, she couldn't still understand what that meant. She was too exhausted to think, she rolled on her bed struggling to get up let alone open her eyes.

"Today is your dad's birthday!" That was what It took for rudev to open her eyes immediately. The young girl bounces up from her bed, she rushes and gets changed without having a shower, she puts on an orange glittering gown fastened at the waist. She stands in front of the mirror and brushes her long dark hair that reaches her knees- this was the best part of her body. Rudev Mary is eleven years old, very young, she's brown in complexion, short and slim. She has perfect eyes, hair and glowing skin. She was the definition of beauty.

"I can't believe I'm late," She says. She hurries downstairs by sliding on the rail of the stairs.

"Rudev, are you ..."The  voice said again but this time rudev got down in time to stop her

"I owe you one, Sarah," she says to a fat old lady holding a  cleaning brush.

She leaves the castle's door gazing at the sky "It's going to take time before I get to the Sivan Tower"She whispers to herself. After a short thought, her face lit up as if she just got an idea. She pulls out her bow and arrow which she takes everywhere with her. Rudev is the best archer in the whole of Persia, both men and women could not beat her, she took after her Grandfather in the role of arching, that's why she is called Rudev even though her real name is Mary. She carefully aims at the tower which was quite a distance from the castle, she targets the roof and releases her hand. The arrow smoothly left the bow and hit the roof.

"Bull's eye!" she pulls the rope attached to the arrow just to make sure it is secure for the stunt she was about to pull next. She runs holding the rope as soon as she reaches the cliff, she jumps and swings down the forest skillfully, dodging trees and birds. "Woohoo!" she exclaims. She finally got to her destination and landed on the ground in style. She took a deep breath and slowly made her way through the door.
She entered happily only to see a large crowd staring at her, she also saw her family at the altar, by the looks of it, she was late already. Everyone paused, rudev's green piercing eyes scanned the entire hall, the eerie silence made rudev's head accommodate different thoughts about how they viewed her. Everyone began murmuring pointing fingers and scoffing, this upset amira. Rudev sighed because she knew what was coming for her. Priel, her cousin then chimed in with a witty comment  "Oh look who decide to show up, welcome, you're late for your dad's birthday"

Amira, the family's head, her Grandmother tisked and walked unsteadily towards rudev with fury, rudev's heart was racing, and she stepped backwards slowly. Rudev has embarrassed her, angry spikes stood from her short grey hair,  But more than this, She burns with luminous white light. Her face is knotted and anxious, bunched in on itself.

"I can explain..." was the last thing rudev said before getting interrupted by a slap from amira. Rudev fell to the ground and landed on her back so hard that she yelped and rolled trying to ease the pain. Amira is the mother of King Ephraim and Sir Alfred. She's the head of the kingdom because she dictates what her son says; Rudev's dad. She is mean, strict and doesn't tolerate any act of indiscipline. After slapping rudev, she drags her on the floor like a mop, the whole crowd watched in silence as they could do nothing about it. Amira took rudev away by her hair, and she screamed for help. Rudev's dad, King Ephraim and her mum, Queen Sofia ran after Amira. Amira was capable of doing anything violent as far as they knew her.

No-one stopped her, when she arrived at the castle, Amira let go of Rudev in the centre of the living room. Rudev struggled to get up from the slippery marble-tiled floor, the whole family surrounded her, Ephraim, Sofia, Alfred and his three children: Dan, Joza and Priel; The maids and manservants also showed up because they sensed trouble had arrived. Rudev was about to get up but amira hit her again. King Ephraim intervened and obstructed Amira from any further action.

"Go on, continue spoiling this brat!" amira exclaimed

"I won't let you hit her again," he said firmly. Although his voice was stern, there was a glimmer of respect in his eyes.

Sofia being timid wanted to interfere

"Mum, rudev must have overslept, she's still a child .."  amira glared at her and shouted

"Don't you dare, I asked for good children and you gave me this spoilt brat instead!"

King Ephraim became pissed by this comment and raised his voice at his mum for the first time in a while"Don't insult my wife and daughter!" This gave the family a shock. Rudev was so pissed at the comment also, that she stepped in front of her dad and faced amira. Amira was right about one thing, rudev was blunt which many adults considered rude. She was brave, courageous and clever.

"You know Grandma, it's not how many children one has that determines the chances of all of them being good "She faces her cousins and says

"Look priel is my age, and she still acts like a child. Dan is seventeen, he doesn't like following his father to run the family business and Joza is thirteen and he only thinks about girls!"

Of course, this rude comment made Joza  mad

"Hit her more Grandma, maybe she'll learn to keep her mouth shut," Joza  said

Rudev rolled her eyes at him and faced Amira

"So please Grandma, never insult my mother again. You can pour out your anger on me" Amira wanted to hit her again but rudev interrupted her again

"You can hit me as hard as you want, I never cry any way" Rudev glared at Amira and flipped her hair off her shoulder. This made amira mute, the whole family stood in marvel and watched rudev walk up the bifurcated stairs coated with sapphire. Rudev was right about that, she has never cried in her entire life not because she doesn't want to but because she can't, it's like a disability of some kind and no one understands why yet.
