Everything was going through my mind like flashbacks and echos. I felt joy in receiving my Hogwarts letter and pain in looking into Professor Snape's eyes for one last time. My father once told me If you're lucky enough to be different, don't ever change. I remember the exact moment he said those words to me.

My eleventh birthday was today, and I couldn't be more excited now. I love my birthdays. It seems it's the only day my older sister and I get along. I discovered I was a witch a year ago, and my parents seemed so proud, but my sister seemed to think I was a big freak. Today is the day I get my wand before we move to America; luckily, I get to go to a magic school to learn more about my extraordinary powers.
I skipped to the stairs to go to Diagon Alley with my parents until I heard Amelia, my sister, crying in her room beside mine. My movement seceded as I found myself opening the door to her room. She was holding the plant our grandmother gave her; it was very important to Amelia because our grandmother was Amelia's favorite person in the universe. She was the worst out of us all when we found out she died.
The plant seemed to have died, and it was heartbreaking for me to see my sister so upset, so I decided to help. I walked over to the plant, put it in my hands, and closed my hands while picturing it alive and beautiful again. When my eyes opened, I saw it alive, and several Roses sprouted on stems. My sister's face was shocked and mixed with happiness; she quickly took it from my hands and inspected the now-alive plant. Her smile made me smile because I was happy I could make her happy. But I knew my sister, and she would not be pleased about the magic I had just used to revive that plant. The smile she just had had turned into a scowl, and she was glaring at me with eyes of hatred.
"You're such a freak, Lily; you belong in a zoo or a science lab!" She yells at me while putting the plant down and shoving me on the ground.
My crying didn't start because of the name-calling because that's what she usually does, but what hurt was when she pushed me; it made me realize I will probably never have a good relationship with my sister. I quickly got up and did not dare to look at her while I ran back to my room. I jump on my bed and start crying my eyes out. I heard a soft knock on my door before It opened quietly; the mysterious person sat at the end of my bed and started to rub my back soothingly. I pick my head up and look to see my dad staring at me with an apologetic look, which made me cry more.
"Why can't I be normal?" I said while crying to my dad.
He hugged me tight and started to rub my back again. I think I soaked his shoulder by the time I was done crying. He then pulled out from the hug so I could look him in the eyes.
"Now listen to me, my little Lily. You should be proud of who you are. Everyone is different, and no one is normal. If everyone were the same, it would get quite boring, and you wouldn't have all of those books you love so much. You were put on this world for a purpose, and when you find that purpose, you will be happy in life." My father told me while wiping away my tears.
"Did you find your purpose, papa?" I question him while looking at him with amazement.
"Of course I did. It was marrying your mother and being you and Amelia's father, and I am so grateful to be blessed with such beautiful daughters." He said before giving me the biggest smile ever.
