"You know, you should give Maze a call. Hasn't it been a while since you two hung out?" Chloe asked as we were walking down a white hallway.

"Oh? Tired of tripping over her sex toys, are you?" Lucifer popped off.

"I didn't say that. I just think it would do her, and me, some good if she wasn't around all the time." Chloe waved her hand.

"Well, here's the thing. Maze is like one of those little baby birds that imprints on whatever's near. Sadly, that's you. You are the new me."

"I don't want to be you. I just want some space."

"Oh. Eventually, Maze will find her place, but until then, what's the worst that could happen?"

"What about you, Misha?" Chloe looked over her shoulder at me as I was following them. "Think you could, I dunno, hang out with her for a bit?"

"Last time I invited her to the gym with me, she folded a guy into a pretzel."

"You can take her somewhere else. What is it that you even do for fun?" Lucifer furrowed his brows at me.

"I work and then I go home, not much time in between for 'fun'."

  "Explains a lot."

  "What've we got, Ella?"

"Murder. Confirmed. Blunt-force trauma to the back of the head. The victim got hit with this backgammon board."

  "Not very sportsmanlike."

"Mm-mm. He was an orderly. Toby Mulligan, 32. Body was found here."

"Okay. They interview the staff or the patients yet?"

"No, not yet. It's a psychiatric hospital, so the staff didn't want the patients wigging out over the dead body." Ella explained. "They've been busy moving everyone to a different floor."

"I love the mentally ill. I mean, who isn't amused by someone who thinks they're Elvis or Napoleon or Wesley Snipes?"

"Who found the body?" Chloe asked while trying to ignore Lucifer.

  "God."

  "Ah! See?!"

"God Johnson, he's a patient. He's right in there. The guy actually thinks he's God. He changed his name and everything."

"Oh. You two should have a lot to talk about." Chloe pat Lucifer on the shoulder.

"Yes. I would like to have a chat with the Almighty."

  "I don't think that's a good idea."

  "And why is that?"

"Oh, I don't know. Lucifer, God, in the same room. Does that not spell out disaster to anyone else? I mean, come on. He goes on and on about his daddy issues." I waved my hand and Ella snorted.

"Well, he's obviously not actually God, little imp. My bone to pick is with the real big man." Lucifer scoffed while straightening out his cuffs.

"Either way, there's a lot of paperwork to fill out before you can even question a patient."

"Come on, guys. Is it really so crazy? I mean, what if God was one of us?" Ella asked as she turned around with a vial in her hand.

"Just a slob, like one of us." Chloe shrugged, and I snorted.

  "Exactly. Or just a-"

  "A stranger on a bus."
