"It's just one personal day. I never ask for anything." Chloe waved her hand as we were walking to the crime scene.

"You're too low maintenance, Detective. People assume work is your only desire."

"Yeah, well, it's not. What a jerk."

"Oh, look who's all hot and bothered. Someone got under your skin." Lucifer chuckled. "What do you want with a personal day, anyway?"

  "It's personal."

"Maybe take your own advice and go mano-a-mano." I popped off, and Chloe shot me a look before going under the yellow tape.

"Looks like some sort of poor man's penthouse, isn't it?"

"Why, he's so young." Chloe said as Ella was photographing the wounds on the young man's chest. "Practically a kid."

  "Yeah."

"What happened here? Who would've done this?"

"....Lucifer? You okay?" I asked when I saw the look on his face.

"I did this young man a favor. And I think I might know who did this."

"What do you mean?" I lowered my voice while glancing back at the officers at the door.

"Well, his name's Joey. Joey Pileggi. He came to me a few months ago and asked me for a favor, and I granted it to him."

"What does that have to do with this?"

"Well, his desire was to become the new Godfather, a Scarface for millennials." Lucifer replied, and I dragged him into the next room.

"You introduced him to the mob?!"

"I may have gotten him an internship."

"May or did?" I put my hands on my hips while narrowing my eyes.

  "....Did."

"Hello, Frankie." Lucifer said as he came in after swinging open the door to the interrogation room. "Imp." He gave a short nod to me as I was setting down a cup of water in front of Frankie.

  "Mr. Ferrante? I'm Detective Decker."

"What'd you do to get called 'Imp'?" Frankie smirked at me while I was sitting down.

"Discussion for another time. Remember me, Frankie?" Lucifer smiled.

"I'm not sure we've met, buddy."

  "Oh, please."

  "And this is-"

"Charlotte Richards." Frankie nodded to the woman standing by the table. "How are you? How are the kids?"

  "Hi, Frankie."

"Man, the guys are sure gonna be jealous when they hear you're defending me." He chuckled.

"Look, Frankie, I'm not your lawyer. I'm the prosecutor. I work with the cops now. Against you."

  "What's the world coming to?"

"Yeah, tell me about it." Chloe popped off.

"What happened, Frankie? You were supposed to mentor Joey Pileggi, not kill him." Lucifer leaned onto the table.

"I got no idea about any killing."

"Oh, did Joey steal from you? So you made a brutal example of him? Well, guess what? I love making brutal examples of people."
