"Hey, Maze, it's Misha. I was calling to see if you'd like to hang out. I've got a day off and heard you weren't working a bounty, so if you're up to it, give me a call back. I was thinking we could go to the gym or this place you can throw axes, or whatever really." I rubbed the back of my neck while leaving the voicemail.

Maze usually answered when I called, but if she didn't, it wouldn't be long until I heard back from her. However, I had called earlier this morning and hadn't gotten a call back, so I thought to try and leave a message this time. If I still didn't hear back, I could only assume she was busy or not in the mood to hang out.

"You two stay in here, I'll handle this." I said while looking at Chloe and Lucifer in the observation room.

  "Are you sure?" Chloe asked.

"Yeah." Nodding, I then went into the interrogation room.

"Ugh, more talking." Maze groaned as I walked in.

  "Hey, Maze."

  "Misha."

"Wanna tell me why you're admitting to a murder you didn't commit?" I questioned while sitting down across from her

  "Because I did it."

"Look me in the eye and tell me that." I said, and Maze leaned on the table while locking eyes with me.

  "I. Did. It."

"I don't believe you." Leaning on the table, I pointed at her. "You don't even have motive."

"Who needs a reason? I'm just evil."

"You always need a reason. I've never seen you hurt anyone without one."

"Fine, he pissed me off. I got angry and stabbed him. There, good enough?" Maze laced her fingers together while shifting in her seat.

"How many times did you stab him?"

"Two or three." I raised my eyebrows at her. "Or four." I snorted.

"I knew you didn't fuckin' do it."

"Look, I just got so mad I forgot to keep count."

"I'm not stupid, Maze. Let me ask you something else. Did you follow the victim to a winery?"

  "Sure."

"You're just proving my point even more here."

"Why won't you believe I did it? I'm admitting to it, I even brought in the murder weapon."

"Because you're you, Maze. And since you didn't do it, it looks like you're being set up. Any idea on who would be doing that?" I questioned as the woman sitting across from me was staring at me with a flat expression. "Come on, Maze. Let me help you."

  "I don't need your help."

"Too bad, you're in custody and aren't going anywhere. So, who is it? Or are you still trying to figure that out?" I watched her expression closely to look for any changes, but her face didn't even twitch. "That's one Hell of a poker face." Sighing, I leaned back in my chair. "I hope you know I'm going to help whether you like it or not. Being a detective is my job, Maze. Give me some clues, and we can have you out of those cuffs faster."

  "You're so annoying."

  "And you're stubborn."

~

"I should have known she'd bust out." I sighed while walking next to Chloe to the interrogation room.

"Well, you can give her a good scolding when we find her. I think Ella might, too." She chuckled while referencing how Ella was upset with how Maze used a hug to steal her access badge to break out and get into the files.
