"So what does being God's consultant actually look like?" Chloe asked as we were getting out of the car.

"How do you mean?" My nose scrunched up a little, and the blonde waved her hand.

"Well, how are you going to manage being a detective and consultant to God. Do you get to pick your own hours, or....?"

"Uh, haven't actually gotten that far. We're still working all that stuff out."

"It's already figured out. You can do whatever you want." Lucifer chuckled as we walked down the sidewalk under a shady tree toward the crime scene.

"That is not figured out, and you know it." I pointed at the man, and he shrugged.

"You're not going to have to cut back on hours, are you? I mean, that's fine if you have to, Dan and I have been doing pretty well again on cases, but I do like working with you."

"I'm not sure. I might have to just do less overtime."

"Are you planning on keeping your wings to get up there, or are you gonna have to commute? Oh, God, this doesn't mean you have to die, does it?!" Chloe looked at me with wide eyes, and Lucifer's expression twisted.

"No, no, of course not." He waved his hands. "Look, there's plenty of time to figure out logistics when and if I become God. So....hold off on all of the questioning, please."

"Right, yeah, sorry. I'm just trying to wrap my mind around what all of this means, the weight of it." Chloe gestured to her head. "You're becoming God, and Misha's going to be your consultant while also still in the process of turning into an angel- It's all a lot to digest."

"Ain't that the truth." I sighed while shoving my hands into my pockets.

"Well, I'm not even sure I can convince my siblings I'm the right angel for the God job." Lucifer stated while stopping in front of Chloe and I.

"Lucifer, you convinced me not to kick your ass before, I'm pretty sure you can get through to them." I raised my eyebrows at the man, and he scoffed.

"No, you're right. You're right. What was I thinking?" He softly laughed before offering his arm. "Shall we, future Mx. G?"

  "Aww, you went gender-neutral?"

"I thought it was better than stopping in the middle of my sentence to ask which pronouns you wanted to be used for today."

"I appreciate the thought." I softly smiled while accepting his offered arm.

"It's either you two are bantering or giving me cavities." Chloe popped off while shaking her head and smiling.

"Well, I know a few eligible bachelors if you're ready to start dating again, Detective."

"Thank you, but I'll pass. I'm not sure I'd want a date set up by the Devil."

"It could be one Hell of a date."

  "Oh, that was bad."

"Still made you laugh." Lucifer smirked, and we entered the building taped off and full of unis. A large puddle of wine and blood was on the floor where Ella was photographing the body. "What a tragedy."

"Oh, I know, it's always sad when someone- You're talking about the wine, aren't you?" Ella asked as she stood up and gave Lucifer a look.

  "Heartbreaking, yes."

  "Who's the victim?"

"Our oenophile is Johnathon Donnelly, 53, a tech in a medical examiner's office. Cause of death, two gunshots to the chest, .45 caliber." Ella pointed as Lucifer wandered off.
