Haiiiiiii team! Happy Presidents Day!

Y/N POV:

A clanking noise echoed from across the room.  "I got it!"  Jungkook called.  His eyes lit up as sparks recoiled off the metal chain.  "Hey, Y/n check it!"  I turned at the sound.  He was holding the hammer proudly as now the chain had two separate components.  There was still the cuff around his ankle, but judging by his smile he didn't seem to mind.

A breath of excitement left me.  "That's great!" I answered back.  I felt a glimmer of hope.

"I can help now too."  He skipped over towards my direction.  My heart beat quickened with each step he took toward me.

"Free rent in his mind" I thought to myself.  I blushed at the thought.  Nervous jitters kept me from meeting his eyes for too long.

But despite everything seeming to move in the right direction, if we can't escape I don't know what will happen.  I could still tell his movements were weaker than they were when I first got here.  Fatigue must have been hitting him hard.  It was pretty late now after all.  The clock on the wall was reading about 6am.  The basement was still dark from the outside, but the peaking sun was staring to poke it's way through the boarded up window sill.  I don't think either of us have slept since yesterday night.  With the increased light it was easier to see though.  Jungkook's eyes had deep circles that ran through them, and his posture was slouched like he was fighting to stay upright.  With each passing minute, the movements he took grew slow and increasingly more difficult.  Just a little longer I promise.

I'm not sure how well we would do if we got into a real confrontation with this guy.  It would be best if we could leave before the man wakes u again.  "How much force do you think it would take to open the main door?" Kookie puzzled looking in the direction of the stairs.  "I wonder how loose it is."  Of course we had already tried, but our options seemed to be running lower.  He tip toed across the room lightly stepping up upward.  He was silent as his ear leaned against the door.  Gently he jiggled the door knob.  Locked.  His hands continued then pressing his body weight against the metal obstruction. To neither surprise, it didn't budge.  He swore under his breath before heading back to my direction.

Mold seemed to be pretty abundant down here, and searching in the dark was getting pretty gross. My hands were accumulating different textures left and right, but making my way to yet another box, my eyes finally lit up at the contents.  "Hey, you think this could work on the window will?"  I held up a rusted crowbar that had been wedged between more wilted flowers, and stuffed bears with their heads chopped off.

He smiled an exhausted smile. "That could work!"

"Right" I quickly but quietly made my way back to the area where the light was shining most.  Eager, I went to get the bar behind the first plank right away.

     "Y/N?"  Jungkook called.

"Yea?" I answered still prying on the wood.

     "What's your dogs name?"

The question caught me slightly off guard. "Uh Biscuit, he's a shih tzu."

He yawned. "Oh that's cute." We continued to work together on the wood.  We took turns trying to pry, with the crow bar or our hands.  Whoever screwed these must have been planning on the only entrance down here being the main door.  Jungkook seemed to be getting more tired the longer we proceeded.

After what felt like ages, "It's wiggling a bit!" I smiled hearing four screws fall to the ground as the plank now effortlessly was wedged off.  5 wooden planks total. Still 4 more to go. Light was now more abundant than before.  I glanced at the clock. 6:30. We made our way to the second plank.
