Chapter 20: Spring Day

Y/n's POV:

   I waved the last of my friends good bye as they turned out the light. I hated the hospital at night. Especially, staying here by myself. It's a little scary. Sometimes you can hear patients shouting down the hall. Some in pain. Some angry. "Water!" Or "I need help!" I try not to think about it too much. I clutched my blanket a bit harder.

   The room around me was dark. It felt especially dark with everyone gone. The only light was from the beeping machines around me. My phone dinged.

   JK: Hey! Just wanted to give you the heads up to pack for an overnight trip tomorrow. Jimin suggested we should camp too. You okay with that?

   Attached to the message was the address of the nature park he picked.

   Y/n: Yea! That sounds awesome! I could use a distraction.

   I bit my lip at the empty room around me.

   JK: Perfect! We'll pick you up around 3pm :) Rest up, Y/n!

   I smiled at the message.

   Y/n: Thanks you too! Good night! :)

   He replied with a goodnight too and I slowly drifted to sleep thinking about tomorrow.

Jungkook POV:

   "Morning Jimin!" I leaped on his bed to wake him up. "We're camping today! We have to go buy s'mores stuff!" My face beamed above his groggily head.

  "5 more minutes, We're not leaving until 3" He checked the time on his phone. "Jungkook, Its 7am, we have plenty of time" he grumbled while closing his eyes again.

   "Nope! Time to go! We have a big day ahead of us." I started pulling on Jimins arm, "Maybe we can grill hot dogs and ooo! I'll bring a football! Does Y/n like football" I trailed off while still intruding.

   "Okay okay, sounds good" He leaned up now more awake. "I guess, I can sleep later..."

   Y/ns POV:

   I woke up to it being pretty bright outside. I shielded my eyes from the sun speaking through the window. "What time is it?" I said to myself still in the hospital bed. I jumped out of bed. "2:30!" I panicked. "I went to bed at like 9! How much sleep did I get?" I tried to do the math in my head. "No time, they're going to be at my dorm in 30 minutes and I'm a mile from my room. I skirted out trying to call an uber.

   Marie: Hey, we're here, hurry up.

   I read the text from my phone as I was shoving bug spray in my bag. Without responding, I quickly ran around to grab the rest of the things from my room. The time read 2:55. My hair was wet from my quick shower, and my roommate Lyssa was helping me pack.

   Y/n: Coming!

   I fixed my white t shirt and jeans and grabbed my bag. Looking back into the room behind me to see if I forgot anything, "Phone, Wallet, toothbrush...yea, I should be good, Thanks Lyssa!" and I closed the door behind me

Y/Ns POV:

  I exited my dorm building and started searching for a familiar face. "Hey! Y/n!" I quickly turned my head in the direction of the noise to see Jess waving out the back of a car window. It was a grey Honda civic that looked like it could fit 5 people.

   I waved and hurriedly made my way to the vehicle. "All packed?" Jungkook asked from the back middle seat.

   "Yup! Perfect timing!" I smiled and sat next to Jungkook.
