When the Levee Breaks (Part 1)

I watched as pure terror washed across Arya's sheet white face. It was clear that she was going into a panicked state.

"Arya?" I asked she didn't answer her lips trembled as a small tear slid down her cheek.

"Arya baby are you okay?" I asked looking at her. I followed her eyes to the back steps and saw Connor standing there with a shocked look on his face. I saw fucking red, why the fuck was he here. I let out a vicious snarl in his direction.

"Oh my god Arya!" I heard Jeremy yell as she fainted. Luckily Melody was right next to her. She eased Arya down onto the floor as the boys and June crowded her. A concerned Connor made an attempt to step up on to the porch I immediately turned to him.

"Not one fucking step closer or I will rip your god damn face off!" I let out a thundering growl.

"Daniel! That is my mate!" Melody defended the fucker on the stairs.

"No he isn't, he woman beating piece of shit! How dare you come to my home and upset my mate. I'll fucking kill you!!!" I bellowed lunging at him sending us both tumbling down the stairs.

"HOLY SHIT DAN!" Melody and June yelled out but I was gone, I let my wolf take full control. We landed on the ground with Connor on top and to my surprise he pushed himself off of me and tried to stand.

"I don't want to fight you man." Connor said quietly holding his hand out for me to take. Wonderful, if he doesn't want to fight it will be easier to fucking kill him, less energy I have to exert. I jumped to my feet sending him a swift right hook to the face. Connor stumbled back holding his face.

"Well that's okay. Its not gonna be much of a fight anyway." I snarled with a smile and swung again slamming my fist against his face breaking his nose and knocking him on his ass at the same time.

"D-Danniel..." Connor groaned holding his hand up in defeat, I let out a loud laugh.

"What's the matter bro?" I sneered mocking him "Not as much fun when someone can fight back huh?" I laughed kicking him in the stomach and face. Connor lay sprawled out on the ground blood spewing from his mouth with every breath he took.

"D-Dan...I...Arya..." Connor gasped for air as he tried to speak but I shut him up sending another swift kick to his face knocking his head back.

"No no, you see you don't get to say her name. You don't even get to fucking think about her!" I sat on top of him slamming my fist into his face over and over again listening to the satisfying cracks of his bones popping out of place. I was so blind with rage I didn't even feel Jeremy and Peter pulling me off of him. It wasn't until I was sitting on the ground next to him gasping for air that I realized what had happened. Connor was on the ground, I would have thought he was dead if it wasn't for the faint wheezing sound that left his lips every now and then. My wolf was in a rage still.

Kill him. Kill him. Kill him. Echoed through my mind over and over again, I roared out in anger and lunged for him again only to have Jeremy and Peter hold me back with every bit of strength they had.

"Relax man you made your point. Chill out please." Jeremy spoke in a calm voice.

"He's still fucking breathing." I grunted attempting to get out of their grasp though it wasn't easy.

"I know he is. You can't kill Melody's mate. Do you wanna put her through the pain of losing her mate do you? I know I don't man. You beat him within an inch of his life I think that is far enough." Jeremy said trying to reason with me. A part of me knew he was right. I couldn't put Melody through a pain like that. She was family. Then I looked at Connor and though of my sweet mate, how she cowered in fear from this man for her entire life. How she woke up screaming and sobbing, afraid that he would come and take her away. How her beautiful creamy skin was marred with scars and bruises that still after months had yet to go away. I felt the rage bubbling up again and I just wanted to rip out of their grip and maim him in the worst ways.
