Arya.
Daniel had been driving for twelve hours only stopping a few times for gas; he sped through towns with ease avoiding any kind of law enforcement. We were at least three states away now and he didn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. I hated long car rides, being confined in a small space for hours makes me extremely uncomfortable. Probably because Connor used to lock me in the crawl space under the house when I was younger, such a douche bag.
I sat in the passenger seat curled up and reclined back as far as the seat allowed. I had been dozing in out of consciousness for what seemed like an hour or so. When I just started to really fall asleep I felt Daniel rub my shoulder gently.
“Hey Arya hun, you gotta wake up we have to talk to border control.” My eyes shot open at the last words he spoke. I immediately sat up in my seat and stared sat him with wide eyes.
“Border control?! Where are you taking me? I can’t leave the country! I don’t even have a passport! You have weed in the car and a gun! A freaking shot gun and-” Daniel slammed his foot on the break stopping the car and smashed his lips onto mine shutting me up instantly. I froze for a second before softly kissing back losing myself in the kiss; minutes later he pulled away and gazed into my eyes.
“Don’t even sweat it babe,” He grinned and reached into the back of the Jeep for his back pack. Daniel pulled out two passport books and handed one to me. I opened it up and saw a picture of me from high school in there it looked like a legitimate passport.
“Where did you get this, h-how did you get this picture?” Daniel only laughed at my stunned expression.
“Peter is a goddamn genius, he may not look it but he is. He found a school photo of you on the school’s website and made you this the other night. Just in case we had to use Plan B. As for my gun and my bud, don’t you worry your pretty little head. I have crossed the Canadian border a million and ten times nothing will happen to us.” Without another word he stared the car up and we continued on our way. I couldn’t help but stare at him astounded, did he not see what happened earlier today? I don’t think I’ll ever get used to the way Dan speaks so calmly about every stressful situation he finds himself in. I leaned back in my chair and closed my eyes calming my nerves as we pulled up to the check point. A guard motioned for us to stop; Daniel slowly eased the car to a full stop and rolled down his window a friendly smile plastered on his face. The man stepped towards our car with a bored look on his face.
“Passports, license and registration please.” The man grumbled Daniel took my passport from my hand and handed the man all of the papers. He skimmed quickly and glanced at both of us. “What’s your business in Canada?”
“Vacation, taking this little lady to the forest for some relaxation.” Daniel smiled placing his hand on my thigh. “Hopefully we’ll see a moose or two!” he added grinning like an idiot. The man gave us a bored look and handed Daniel the papers. He stepped back from the Jeep and casually waved us onward.
“Uh huh, have a nice vacation you two.” He replied in the same bored tone, Daniel and I waved as we passed through no one even spared us a second glance. It was almost too easy.
“See, you have nothing to worry about.” Daniel smiled taking my hand in his. “Now we have a few more hours to go, are you hungry? Do you want to stop and eat, stretch your legs a bit?” Getting out of this Jeep sounded like the greatest thing in the world right now.
“That sounds wonderful.” I smiled brightly at him, excited to get out of this cramped space. Daniel grinned and we kept driving until we came upon a small diner on the side of the road, we pulled in and parked. The second the car wasn’t moving I swung open the door and jumped out of the Jeep and stretched my limbs. I moaned quietly as I heard some satisfying cracks; in the corner of my eye I could see Daniel’s body stiffen as we watched me stretch. Daniel’s tongue quickly darted out to moisten his lips as he eyed me hungrily. I turned towards him and gave him a puzzled look.
