Outside of Kodiak, Alaska.
Arya.
“Babe, baaabe…Arya honey wake up. Wakey wakeeey” Daniel’s soft voice disturbed my sweet slumber as he feathered my neck with kisses. I let out a small groan not really wanting to open my eyes.
“Just leave me.” I moaned pushing him away slightly. I was completely exhausted, he could leave me in car and I would be content.
“Arya, we’re home. I made it here in record time. Don’t you wanna see our new home?” he asked unbuckling my seat belt.
“Give me fifteen minutes.” I mumbled.
“No can do sweetheart. I already unpacked the Jeep. It’s time for you to come inside, they guys wanna see you.” Daniel chuckled. I felt one arm slide underneath my legs the other supported my lower back scooping me into his arms. Daniel kicked the door to the Jeep shut and began walking. I could hear the crunching of gravel underneath his boots.
His other cabin was very nice, his car is extremely nice. I wonder what this place looks like. Unable to contain my curiosity I opened my eyes and my jaw quickly dropped to the ground.
The word nice simply did not comprehend how this cabin looked, if you could even call it a cabin. Extravagant log castle would probably be a little better. The entire home was warmly lit; large glass windows covered half of the front of the house. There was a gorgeous porch that stretched the entire length of the log castle. What made it even better was behind the home I could hear the faint sound of waves splashing against a rocky shore. A soft smell of salt was in the air and my heart jumped. I looked up at Daniel with wide eyes.
“Are we next to the ocean?” I asked barely able to contain my excitement. I had lived in Colorado all my life and never once left the state, hell I had never left the pack territory. I had never seen the ocean before, not in person at least.
“Yeah, Pacific. Why?” Daniel chuckled. The minute he confirmed it was the ocean I jumped from his arms running across the front yard I jumped the steps to the back yard and sure enough there it was. The sun had set but the sky was not quite black, it lingered in that purple twilight phase. I bolted down the hill reaching the rocks I ripped my shoes off feeling the soft pebbles against my bare feet. It may have been summer but it was still cold at night, especially in Alaska but I didn’t give a shit. It was the ocean, and it was breathtaking, more enchanting than the log castle behind me. Savoring every moment I slowly made my way to the water.
“Arya! What are you doing?!” I heard Daniel’s voice yell from the top of the hill. I didn’t answer him, I was having a moment.
A wave crashed down sweeping over my toes I closed my eyes taking a few more steps till I was ankle deep. Thankfully I chose to wear shorts today and not jeans or leggings. The water was absolutely freezing but it didn’t matter. Another wave came crashing against my shins and I was in heaven. Ever since I was a child I had dreamed of going to the beach or seeing the ocean, and now I was going to live next to it! I moved further into the water till it came slightly above my knees.
“Arya, what the hell? You just leap out my arms and run out to sea?” Daniel asked. He pulled off his shirt and jeans leaving him in plain black boxers. Daniel made his way out to me. When he reached me he stood behind me wrapping his arms around my waist.
“This water is freezing what are you doing?” Daniel asked again chuckling slightly.
“I’ve never been to the ocean before. It’s so beautiful.” I whispered still enjoying my placid moment with the sea.
