Mason.
The sun is almost up and Arya still hasn’t returned home, despite rejecting her she was still a member of my pack and my Beta’s little sister. I was beginning to worry something serious had happened to her. There are other rouges out there other than Daniel, what if she wandered off pack territory and was captured by a rival pack. My wolf was beside himself with worry, he still wanted our mate by our side but that was never going to happen. The search party I had recruited had been searching for six hours and found no sign of her anywhere. Daniel had sent me a text earlier saying he and his guys searched the northern forests and found nothing. Connor was at home drinking himself into a coma more than likely, I don’t understand why he cared so much that she ran away. He hated having her around anyway; Arya was just a reminder that his father committed the ultimate sin of our kind and lost his Alpha title. I made my way up the back steps of Connor’s house and pushed open the screen door entering the kitchen. Connor was sitting at a chair in the kitchen with a handle of whiskey in his hand; the kitchen table was still in pieces on the living room floor.
“Tell me something good.” Connor grunted gulping down some of his alcohol.
“We haven’t found anything Connor. Not even a scent trail, it’s… it’s like she just evaporated. The next step I can take is start asking neighboring packs if they’ve had any intruders but…”
“Pretty much every neighboring pack hates us and would kill any Grey Winds member they saw on sight. Great, so she’s dead.” For the first time since his mother died I saw a tear slip from Connor’s eye down his cheek.
“She’s not dead. I know that for sure.” I mumbled quietly sitting down in a chair across from him. Connor picked his head up and narrowed his eyes at me.
“What makes you so fucking sure of that Mason?” he spat glaring at me. I guess I had to tell him now, I had to tell someone.
“Arya’s my mate. If she was dead I’d feel it and I haven’t felt anything. So she can’t be dead.” Connor’s face twisted in rage and disgust
“Arya’s your fucking mate! And you didn’t tell me the second you found out what the fuck Mason!!! You’re my best fucking friend and you mated my bitch of a little sister!” Connor was standing now his anger back on full blast.
“I didn’t fucking mate your sister. I rejected her.” I scowled standing on my feet as well, no one yells at me like that even my Beta.
“No wonder why she fucking ran away you asshole! We always said if we found who her mate was we’d make sure she never found out and convince her that she has no mate! You fucked up the whole plan and now she’s gone and probably fucking about to die! You’re such a goddamn idiot!!!” Connor bellowed throwing the chair he had been sitting in against the wall smashing it. I couldn’t hold my anger in any longer, my wolf was livid nobody fucking raises their voice to me.
“FUCK YOU CONNOR! I did what I had to do for the good of the fucking pack. You think anyone in this place would take me seriously with Arya O’Leary by my side as Luna? Fuck no! I’d lose everything I have fucking built. It’s not my fault she ran away maybe if you didn’t treat her like a human punching bag she would enjoy your company a little more big brother.” I roared venom dripping from my every word. I stormed out of the house slamming the screen door so hard it snapped off its hinges falling on the back porch with a loud smack. I burst into my wolf and ripped through the forest a good run always calmed me down. However I couldn’t stop picturing Arya’s big innocent blue eyes staring up at me in horror as I rejected her. Nothing was going to stop me from finding her.
