It had been three days since Valerie had streamed. She was exhausted all the time, and had little to no motivation. She felt like there was no one by her side, no one to talk to when she needed it. She had a nice time streaming with the people she played with the other day but she thought they were only being nice to her because they had to and not because they actually cared. Well, that is until she got a text, turning her dimly lit phone screen on.
Corpse
hey sorry for bothering you I just haven't heard anything from you in a couple days
just wanted to see if you were available to play Among Us with the crew in 45
Valerie read the texts, wondering how the words would look coming from Corpse. She still had yet to see the mans face, and she knew she probably wasn't important enough to ever see it. She thought for a minute before deciding to respond.
Valerie
sure, same people as before?
Corpse
yeah but with Dream too this time.
Valerie
omg
Dream?
as in like
Dream smp Dream?
Corpse
I didn't know you were a fan
Valerie
im not
Minecraft is just my favorite game
Corpse
ahh got ya
well im going to get ready for my stream
talk to you soon :)
Valerie closed the conversation, loading up her streaming computer. She decided she would stream tonight, since her fans were stressed over where she was. She didn't want to worry them, but sometimes her mental health is too much to deal with and stream at the same time.
Valerie clicked on discord, looking at the chat that already had active players in it. She sighed. All of these people had welcomed her and she still had the audacity to think they'd do her wrong.
The girl click on the chat, still not yet streaming, to a rumble of loud voices.
"Jesus Christ," Valerie says chuckling, "what was all that about."
"VALERIE!!" Poki screams, causing Valerie to take her headphones off due to the loud noise.
"Poki, you know sudden loud noises aren't good for my anxiety," Valerie whisper-talked. She was embarrassed. None of her friends she streamed with fully knew the extent of how bad her mental health is. In highschool, Valerie didn't have many friends, well none besides Poki actually. It caused the young girl to spiral; constantly thinking she wasn't good enough. Shortly after, Valerie was diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety. Since that day, Poki has been the one that was always there when Valerie needed it, even when she, herself didn't know she needed it.
"It's alright, just take a couple deep breathes," Poki spoke again. She knew what her friend was talking about, and knew had severe her anxiety could get if she doesn't help her. The two girls separated and went into a separate discord to calm Valerie down, while the others were left in shock, talking amongst themselves until the two came back.
CORPSE'S POV (wow new and cool right :))
I was joining the call, when 7 different voices could be heard through my headset. I looked around; Toast, Sykkuno, Rae, Dream, Karl, Leslie, and Jack were all in the game already.
"Corpse is here!" I hear Sykkuno say loudly through his microphone.
"Waddup baby, have Valerie and Poki joined yet?" I asked slightly confused.
"Oh...I think Valerie was having some anxiety so they went into a separate call to talk, they should be back any second," Toast answers my question.
"Oh no..well I don't wanna say good, but Dream I need to talk to you about Valerie...."
VALERIE'S POV
Poki and Valerie hopped back into the original call, meeting all the other people. We apologized for taking so long, and Toast started the game, as Valerie started her stream.
CREWMATE!
Valerie walked around, listening to peoples voices disappear and suddenly come back when they got close to me. The group is playing proximity, and Karl and Corpse wouldn't stop following Valerie.
"Do you guys need something? I'm trying to finish my tasks here," Valerie says, running around circles in the admin room.
"It doesn't appear to me that you're doing any of that," Karl laughs, following Valerie. Eventually, Karl walks off, following Sykkuno, leaving Valerie and Corpse alone.
"I heard you were anxious earlier, is everything alright?" Corpse asks Valerie, genuinely concerned.
"Yeah I'm okay now, Poki screamed and loud noises trigger panic attacks for me sometimes so she was just calming me," I paused in fear. I had just told the thousands of people on stream about my personal mental health. Usually I keep it to myself, being bullied in school will do that to you.
The comments start loading in with insults, but some support too. It was a little overwhelming, and it took me almost 5 minutes to recover.
'you have anxiety? what a freak.'
'guys leave her alone, we all have personal problems.'
'just take meds for it then'
'weirdo'
'thats probably why she has no friends.'
Valerie couldn't take it anymore. She stopped her stream abruptly, catching her viewers off guard. She shut off Among us, leaving the game quickly and her friends in shock. They were worried.
