a.n howdy cowboys, its been so long that I forgot what season they were in, so since its almost December, lets just pretend it was near the end of the year.
(Valerie's POV)
The next day was just like the others. Valerie would drive Corpse to the hospital to see his mother, who they didn't know only had one day left to live. Corpse and his mother had been spending all the time they could since he found out about the news. They certainly still had issues that needed to be talked about, but little did they both know that those issues would never be resolved.
Valerie had been trying her best to be stable for her lover, so she fails to mention the amount of hate she has been getting on all of her platforms. She hasn't been home in forever, meaning she also hasn't streamed, but she believes it's for the better due to all the negativity.
So, to get her mind off of everything, she began to clean the house, again. Valerie found that cleaning was a good way to relieve the stress she had. Since December had just started, she went out and bought Christmas lights, and a tree for Corpse's living room. She and Corpse had discussed that neither of them had a decent Christmas growing up, and so they agreed they'd try their best to celebrate it together.
She wrapped the tree in colored lights in the living room, with tinsel accenting the colors. It was the first time she had actually prepped a Christmas tree, and she felt proud of herself for putting in the amount of effort she had done. She had yet to buy Christmas ornaments, because she wanted that to be a thing her and Corpse did together.
Just when she had sat down to relax, her phone rang.
My Cat Boy....
answer or decline
"Hi my love," Valerie answered hesitantly. She picked at her fingers as she spoke.
"Whaddup baby," Corpse chuckled. Hearing him laugh eased her nerves.
"You ready for me to pick you up?" she asked. With a "mhm", Valerie grabbed her keys and headed towards the car she had recently bought. It was a matte black Tesla, but she never used the hands free option; it made her nervous. The two said their goodbyes, and Valerie headed off.
Valerie had disassociated the entire drive, but woke up when she had parked the car in the spot she parked everyday when she picked him up. She watched as the figure in all black trotted over to her car, opening the door and getting in. He didn't seem to look too sad today.
"Hi," he said as he buckled his seat belt.
"Hello," Valerie smiled back. She began to drive in the direction of the nearest Walmart. As she parked the car, Corpse was confused, but slid on his mask anyways as they headed inside. Valerie, determined to finish the Christmas tree she failed to mention she put up alone, stomped her way to the ornament isle.
"What color ornaments are you thinking?" she asked, walking up and down the isle looking at the colors.
"Definitely black," Corpse whispered back. She nodded, grabbing a pack of black and silver ornaments. She also grabbed red, her favorite color, and a little rabbit ornament that symbolized both their channels. The two walked to check out, and raced each other back to the car.
Once they got home, Valerie walked inside first, slipping her shoes off by the door.
Corpse walked in, and to his surprise there was a tree already sitting in the living room.
"You got a tree without me?" he asked angrily.
"I just wanted something to do while you were gone-"
"It was supposed to be something we did together Valerie, why the fuck did you do it without me!" he began to yell. Valerie jumped at the sudden change in voice.
"Its just a tree Corpse! I didn't take you for such the sentimental type!" Corpse walked over to the tree, and harshly picked it up and threw it. He held his arm with his other hand, as he sat down on the couch. Valerie knew the sudden temperament wasn't because of a silly tree, as she sat down next to him. Rubbing his back, Corpse curled into her touch as he started to sob.
"I don't know what to do Valerie," he stared into her eyes, "I'm in so much pain."
"I know Corpse, it'll be okay," he continued to sob.
"I'm sorry about the tree, it looks good,"
"Don't worry about it," Valerie replied as she stood up to fix the mess of a tree. Some of the branches had broken, almost as if it fit the couple more now that it was imperfect like them.
