It was about 2am and Valerie and Corpse had just finished the stream. You were both extremely tired, and you both wanted nothing else but to sleep in a comfy bed. Valerie felt like you had overextended her stay, so she said:
"Well I should probably get going," a tinge of sadness in your voice. Corpse could tell, as he laid on his bed and held out his arms to you. Valerie looked at him confused, not knowing what the gesture meant. Although she had an idea, her nerves wouldn't let her do what she wanted to do.
"Just come here," he chuckled, grabbing her by the waist and planting her next to him comfortably. Valerie's heartbeat started to race, as she laid next to the beautifully sculpted man. He wrapped his arms around her waist, almost like he was afraid to let go.
Corpse hadn't been in a relationship since he was cheated on in his last one. They were together for a while and because if it, his trust issues peaked. He wasn't sure how this would go between the two of you. He wanted so badly to tell you how gorgeous he thought you were, or how your laugh brightened his day, but the past could not stop clouding his brain.
Valerie could see the wheels turning by the look on his face. She didn't know what he was thinking, but she was determined to find out.
"Whats wrong?" the young girl asked.
"Nothing,"
"Whats wrong?"
"Nothing,"
"I know something is wrong Corpse tell me," she demanded.
"Its really none of your fucking business," He snapped, looking away from her. This scared Valerie, it reminded her of being at home with her parents, which was a story for another day. Valerie forcefully pushed out of his grip, grabbing her things and heading out to the living room to hopefully leave without saying another word.
"Wait- Valerie- WAIT," He said, slamming the front door shut before Valerie could leave. He looked into her eyes, and all the trauma from her past could be seen through the glossiness of them. He felt bad, not just bad he felt like he had lost the person he cared for most. "I'm sorry," he said, "I need to learn how to communicate better."
"Corpse I am always here for you, ALWAYS, it hurts you think you can't talk to me," She answered, "but I am the same way, maybe we can get better together." He smiled, how did she manage to change his entire mood in a matter of seconds?
Corpse brought her in for a big hug, his muscles drowning her. She giggled, playing with his hair on the back of his head. She loved curly hair, and his was her favorite. He laughed, sweeping her off her feet and bringing her back to his bed.
"Stay." He said sternly, and Valerie had to admit, it was kinda hot. She cuddled into his bed which smelled of fire smoke and pumpkin. She loved it, breathing it in and out until finally her eyes became heavy as a pair of strong arms wrapped around her.
⌜THE NEXT MORNING⌝
Valerie woke up in a panic; someone was calling her. She instantly grabbed her phone from the black nightstand, Corpse not moving an inch. She was glad to finally see him sleep, she knew his insomnia was bad but not this bad.
"Hello?" she answered, her voice groggy from just waking up.
"Valerie where the hell are you!" Poki yelled into the phone, the sense of worry ringing through the phone.
"I'm sorry Poki I should've texted you, I stayed the night with Corpse..." Valerie hesitated to say.
"You what now?" Poki laughed, teasing the girl.
"It's not funnyyyy," Valerie dragged, "he's asleep right now but I need to talk to you." Little did Valerie know Corpse had woken up and was laying there with his eyes open. "You of all people know I haven't showed interest in anyone since, well you know."
"I know, and I am proud of you for making a step forward, I know Corpse is a great guy, you two could be good together," She responded.
"I don't know Poki, I mean, what if I'm not good enough for him?"
Poki scoffed, "you're great, you two would be great." At this point Corpse had started to stir in bed, purposely but Valerie didn't know that.
"Alright well I'm gonna go, Ill be home at some point today, bye Poki!"
"Bye Val! Love you," and with that they hung up.
Valerie plopped back down into her spot on Corpse's bed. He groaned, making it known to Valerie that he was awake. She giggled, going to lay on his chest. She could hear his heartbeat, and the music it made.
"Good morning," he said, his voice somehow lower.
"I didn't think it could get any lower," Valerie joked. Corpse rolled his eyes playfully to the sly comment, nuzzling his face into Valerie's neck.
The entire thing, the meet up, the stream, the cuddling had both adults thinking.
What were they to each other?
