Chapter 22: How's it going with Eren?

Going back to half an hour earlier, the girls were in front of the school, waiting for more students to arrive.

Ymir: Hey by the way, I've noticed you barely talk to anyone, why don't you take part of the convo?

Annie: Um... I don't know. I just don't like socialising.

Mikasa: I can tell. - she said, sharply.

Historia and Sasha noticed some sort of tension between the two girls, who seemed to hate each other.

Ymir: C'mon Mikasa, just start a conversation with Annie!

Mikasa: I'd rather talk to a wall.

Annie: Oh, I'll start the conversation, lemme think... hm... How's it going with Eren? - she said, sarcastically.

Mikasa was so angry she almost threw hands with Annie, if it weren't for Historia defending her and Sasha keeping Mikasa back.

Ymir rolled her eyes, crossed her arms and was annoyed of everything going on.

Ymir: Listen, you two, I don't like people who argue all the time, so you either cut out this shit, or just don't talk to us if you have to fight, thanks.

Historia: Ymir, you're only making things worse by talking that way. -she responded, slightly angry.

Ymir: Oh so, am I being rude for just not wanting any shitty drama in my life?

Historia: No, but talking that way after an argument is like throwing gas on fire.

Sasha: Exactly. Why don't you two talk it out? - she said, suggestively.

However, Annie and Mikasa pouted and didn't even look at each other.

Ymir shrugged her shoulders, Historia sighed and Sasha was worried.

Ymir: Listen, I want to have fun tonight, without any futile drama. So, Historia, Sasha, let's go and leave the two here. If they wanna come, they can come.

Historia: But... Fine...

They left, slowly, as the front yard of the school was beginning to get more crowded.

Mikasa went behind a bush, and cried. While everyone else was excited to have fun at the party with their friends, she felt a lot of weight on her chest and stomach, while tears rolled down her face and was trembling.

Annie didn't really care about what happened, all she thought was that Mikasa was extremely toxic, and she was being obsessive of Eren.

The poor ravenette girl was just misunderstood. Ever since they were little kids, there had always been someone trying to separate Mikasa and Eren, because they were jealous of their friendship, and Armin always had to solve things. Mikasa was being overprotective, but everyone just saw her as jealous, possessive and toxic: all she wanted was her boyfriend to love her and her friends group to get back together.

Annie was also misunderstood, as well. She wasn't getting in the way of any relationship, and respected them together, however, she didn't like Mikasa's act, because she made her feel unaccepted.

The situation was Eren's fault: although it wasn't clear to him, he was completely unaware of all the mistakes he was making. He talked behind Mikasa's back, he gave too much attention to Annie, and barely gave any to Mikasa, and he even ditched Armin, his long-life best friend. All for a relationship.

Despite this, Eren didn't realize all this, and just enjoyed the party, subsequently.
