Chapter 18: Halloween Shopping Spree

Eren and Armin ran like two crazy chickens in the middle of the street and got right on time at the mall.

Mikasa: You two seem almost dead.

Eren: Yeah... Well... I... Went to... Reiner's house... And..

Armin: We... Realized... It was... Almost late...

Sasha: Whoa, chill out you two, the fun is just getting started.

Eren: Sasha, comparing to you, we've ran down six blocks and three streets to get all the way here.

Historia: Well, you two have been pretty quick, because honestly, I wouldn't have made it.

Annie was just silently chilling out in the back while keeping headphones on her ears.

Eren went next to her with a smile.

Annie took off her headphones: Welcome back, Airhead.

Eren: Hey, Annie-

Historia: No fair! Only when Eren talks to you, you take off your headphones!

Annie: Hm.

Ymir: What's the hold up? Let's get inside already, I'm starved.

They went inside, and saw how big it was. It was full of stores and people walking around. It also had an arcade, where kids could go play whenever they were bored. There were Halloween Decorations hanging everywhere, and there was even a Terror Tower.

Eren: So y'all, what do we do?

Ymir: Hit McDonald's, of course.

Sasha: I actually wanted to go to the new Noodle shop that opened up-

Annie: I just want a donut.

Eren: Okay you're all already pissing me off, make up your damn minds already. First of all, you guys have money, right?

Annie and Ymir: Duh.

Sasha: Enough to buy something in every restaurant here!

Mikasa facepalmed.

Historia: Why don't we split up and then get a table over there? - she said, pointing to some empty tables in a part of the mall next to the arcade.

Eren: Good idea.

They returned to the meeting spot and ate, except Sasha, who was late because she tried every noodle ever in the Shop and took long to choose one.

When she arrived, her mouth was already stuffed.

Eren: It's about time. - he said, crossing his arms.

Armin giggled nervously.

Historia: This food is really good! Annie, are you sure you can hold your appetite with just one donut?

Annie: I've been doing this for 16 years, of course I can hold it.

Armin: Wow, that's a little dark - he said, laughing.

When they were done eating, they threw the remains in the trash and looked around for a shop.

Eren: So... Do you guys think we can find costumes in a normal clothes shop?

Mikasa: I guess so, look over there. - she said, pointing at an OVS store.

It was covered in Halloween decorations and signs saying "Costumes 50% off!" in orange and black. There were lights surrounding the entrance and mannequins wearing the Halloween Costumes.

Eren: Thank God they're 50% off, I only have 40 dollars in my wallet, we don't even know how much a costume might cost.

Ymir: I mean, it depends on what we choose.

Historia: I have enough money, so in case we need to buy something extra, I can pay! - she said, smiling.

They went inside, except for Sasha who was still busy eating the leftovers and Annie who was reading her book and had earphones on.

The store was extremely big, so they all split up and looked around.

Mikasa: I want to dress like a sort of ghoul or a witch... Maybe I should get a black dress and a witch's hat.

Eren: It would definitely fit you! - he said, teasing her.

Mikasa jokingly punched Eren's arm and giggled a little.

Armin: I want to dress up as a ghost or maybe a wizard.

Eren: For a High School Halloween Party? Seriously, Armin?

Mikasa: Come on, if he wants to wear that, let him do it!

Eren was looking around for something, because he really had no clue of what costume he should get.
He was going around some pirate suits and noticed some masks. Some of them were black, others were white with feathers and more of them were colorful.

Eren: Hm... These could go good with the black suit I got... I have an idea!

Eren ran outside the store, grabbed Annie's arm and dragged her in.

Annie: What is it, Airhead?

Eren: Look at these masks! If you already have a dress... Or maybe a suit... At home, all you need is this mask!

Annie: Um... okay?

Eren: It's a sort of very light blue with pearls and feathers, it would look great on you! - he said, smiling.

Mikasa rolled her eyes and sighed deeply, while Armin was beside her trembling.

Annie: I guess so, thanks.

Historia: Hey guys, we're done here!

Ymir: Same. I even got a costume for Sasha. We can go, I guess.

When they left the mall and went on the bus to get home, Annie was in her seat next to Armin while staring at the mask.

Annie: Why does he care so much about me? Is that the reason why Mikasa gets jealous?
