Chapter 17: A Little Errand To Run

The week flew, and it was already Saturday.

Eren: So what should we do? Have lunch before getting in the mall or have lunch in the mall?

Mikasa: I don't actually care that much...

Armin: Well, I kind of wanna go to the new Noodle Café they opened up.

Eren: Omg, Sasha's been obsessing over that place.

Mikasa: Tell me one place she doesn't obsess over that has food in it.

Eren and Armin laughed.

Eren: Anyway, Armin and I have a little... errand... to run this evening. So Mikasa, we'll have to leave, I'll see you later.

Eren and Armin had to go over to Reiner's house. Eren wanted to talk about his problem with Mikasa and Annie, the fact that Jean was jealous and Mikasa often argued with the blonde girl.

Reiner and Bertholt lived in the same apartment, and once ago lived with an old friend of theirs, Marcel, who passed away due to a motorcycle crash.

Reiner was always smoking, drinking beer, his room was a constant mess and his TV was on 24/7.

Bertholt's room was tidier, he didn't have much to show, he only had a library and a small TV he watched only in the evening.

Eren and Armin walk down the street, for about half an hour, before getting to the condominium where Bertholt and Reiner live.

Eren: Is this it?

Armin: I think so, what about the floor?

Eren: Huh?

Armin: I mean the floor they live in, you dummy 😂

Eren: Oh! Fifth!

They got in and reached the fifth floor with the elevator.

The two boys immediately were able to deduce which was the door to Reiner and Bertholt's apartment, since they could smell the smoke from a mile away.

They got closer to the door, but Eren could hear some moaning noises and banging. He peeked in, since the door was slightly open, only to realize Reiner was watching porn.

Eren panicked.

Eren: oh shit.

Armin: What? Is there something wro-

Eren capped his mouth with his hands.

Reiner noticed the boys in front of the door and fell backwards from his couch as he quickly tried to reach for the remote to shut off the TV.

Bertholt tried to hold in his laugh as he opened the door.

Eren: Yo Reiner, did we bother you?

Reiner sighed annoyingly.

Reiner: Not at all, boys! You came at the right time!

Bertholt, sarcastically: Yes, at THE right time.

Reiner got a lighter for his cigarette and started smoking again.

Reiner: So what's the deal with your girl?

Eren: Well, she and Annie have been arguing more than usual lately. I honestly don't know what to do.

Reiner: Arguing over what? Or should I say... who?

Eren stood silent for a second.

Eren: Me? Could it ever be me? Nah... What the fuck am I thinking... Mikasa and Annie have always hated each other... It could never be over me.

Reiner: Yo, earth to Eren, we're talking about you here.

Bertholt knew everything already, but remained quiet. He was the type to notice things quickly and analyse any detail of a situation.

Eren: Annie and Mikasa never liked each other to begin with. But she never changed her personality about me.

Armin: Exactly...

Eren: Instead now, she's changed a lot. Like, she gets angry when I make plans with the whole group including Annie, and stuff like that.

Reiner: You truly are oblivious, Eren Jeager.  Can't you see it right in front of your eyes? Mikasa's jelly jelly - he said in a mocking tone, while smoke came out of his nose.

Bertholt started coughing uncontrollably and quickly opened the window.

Eren: Yeah but... It's like...

Armin:?

Eren: We've been together for... Like... Three months, almost four. And I feel weird now.

Reiner: Huh? You're loosing feelings for your girl?

Eren: What? N-No! I mean... No. Not at all.

After the chat, the boys then went on talking about other things to distract themselves from the main topic.

Eren: SHIT! WE GOTTA GO!

Armin startled.

Armin: What?

Eren: IT'S FUCKING 1.39 PM! WE GOTTA BE AT THE MALL AT 2!

Armin's eyes became as big as a U.F.O and gasped.

They ran out rapidly, as Eren yelled a quick and loud "THANKS" to Reiner.

Reiner and Bertholt didn't even get the time to say goodbye properly, but then just stood there staring at each other.
