Chapter 11: Armin holds Mikasa's hand

Eren: You're a very interesting person, Annie, I really like talking with you.

Annie: Thanks, I guess. You're quite funny as well.

Eren: Funny...? What do you mean by that?

Annie: You always have something to tell me. But let's admit it, you're quite obnoxious when you're angry.

Eren: Wow, you're so kind. *laughs*

Annie: 😂

All of a sudden, Mikasa sends Eren an audio. But Eren sends her a message saying "Sorry, I can't listen, I'm on a call".

On the other side of the phone, Mikasa was a little disappointed, Armin was there watching everything. The two of them were at a Cafe'.

Mikasa sent a message "With who?"

10 minutes later

"Annie"

Armin trembled at the sight of the white message on the red screen of Mikasa's phone. The ravenette was trembling with rage and almost cracked her phone.

She rampaged at Armin for about 20 minutes, then Eren, who had closed the phone call with Annie by then, listened to the audio she sent.

Mikasa stopped. She looked at her phone and saw Eren typing.

Eren sent a message "Sure, I'd need it after a hard week's work!"

Mikasa then smiled a tiny bit off of her phone and then sent Eren a thumbs-up.

Armin: You almost lost it there 😅!

Mikasa: how could you tell?

Armin: Well... Your face looked like Yandere-chan seeing another girl going after her Senpai...

Mikasa: well maybe I am a Yandere. You never know.

Armin: Y-Y-Yes!

Mikasa: are you scared, Armin?

Armin: Nah... Not a bit!

Although his teeth were chattering and he was jiterry all over his body.

Mikasa went to pay for the drinks they ordered and then went back home early. She seemed like she didn't want to talk to anyone, but Armin stormed in the house anyway, after getting a small lecture from her dad who was taking a nap in the living room.

Armin: Mikasa you can't complain! I mean you were out with me, while he was at home!

Mikasa: He said he had to "study" for tomorrow since Mr. Ackerman has to call him on at the chalkboard since he's got an C in math, and then I catch him on a call with Annie, pff.

Armin: But you don't know if they were calling to study together or not!

Mikasa: Okay so you either live on another planet or you haven't noticed how close those two got ever since Eren stopped talking to me. Ugh! I think I just gagged in my mouth.

Armin: Mikasa... What the hell... You two are dating, why would he ever cheat on you?

The girl stood silent, keeping her arms crossed.

Armin: You're being too possessive. Besides, you have lots of friends while Annie barely has anyone. You used to be very caring, but ever since school started you've changed.

Mikasa: I...

She only mouthed her words, but her lips started trembling.

Armin: Mikasa, crying is pointless, you're the one being toxic! Just go say a direct sorry to Eren and Annie as well.

Mikasa: Eren, yes. Annie, forget it.

The blonde boy stared at her with a firm look in his eyes. He crossed his arms and tapped his fingers on his arm.

Mikasa eventually gave up, she might've loved Eren the most, but she deeply cared about Armin.

Mikasa: Fine...

Armin: tomorrow!

Mikasa: Okay, I'm so sorry Armin. Maybe it's just everything in my head.

Armin: Yes, it is. Eren is your boyfriend, he obviously loves you the most. It seems like you have trust issues.

Mikasa: I... Do.

Armin: But you need trust in a relationship, Mikasa. Otherwise it becomes toxic.

Mikasa: I mean, you're not wrong.

Armin: So like I said, remain calm and say sorry.

The girl nodded. It was very late.

(Since they had no homework for the next day, they took time to relax, go out and discuss)

So Armin stood over to sleep, and he sent a message to his Dad saying he was at Mikasa's.

The next morning, Mikasa woke up at the same time as everyday. She went to grab some Pop Tarts in the kitchen and brought some to Armin with some warm milk.

Eren woke up an hour earlier so he had time to repeat quadratic functions. Then he grabbed a chocolate bar and ran out of the house to the bus stop.

Armin: Hey, Eren! So are you ready for today?

Eren: I guess, I'm a nervous, but today I'mma show that old fart what I can do.

Mikasa smirked, Armin snorted and laughed so hard, his stomach hurt.

The bus arrived. Annie was right around the corner.

Eren waved at her with his mouth open, but then Mikasa immediately pushed him on the bus stairs and almost made him trip over the bus driver. The man scrunched up his nose at them.

"Teenagers. Always so rude." he groaned.

Eren, when he sat at his seat, he looked at Mikasa with a sour look on his face. "What's up with you today?" he asked.

Mikasa was supposed to control herself, as she promised for Armin, but unfortunately she pushed herself over the limit that way.

Mikasa: I'm so-

Annie came over and sat down next to Eren. And immediately after that, he talked to Annie, non-stop, and completely ignored other people talking to him.
It was almost like what Mikasa said was 'inaudible', and she almost felt like crying.
Armin touched her hand and held it tightly.
Usually the ravenette girl would pull her hand away whenever someone else other than Eren touched her hand, but this time she held Armin's hand tightly as well and didn't feel like letting go.

Eren kept talking in front of them to Annie. Annie smiled a lot. For the very first time ever.

The bus finally arrived in front of the school.

Mikasa still felt very hurt. But she didn't show it by plastering fake smiles on her face to her friends. Armin, as usual, was the only one who knew what she felt.
