Chapter 13: Attention to Girls?

Reiner: Dude for real? Is this why Eren ain't here today? - he said as he smoked.

Reiner, Bertholt and Armin, the afternoon on the day when Eren and Jean had the fight, reunited in the same park they've been two weeks before.

Bertholt was silent, as usual, but with a shocked look on his face.

Armin: Yeah... All he was doing was talking to Annie... And then everything flopped.

Reiner:... Holy shit. So this afternoon he's been in detention?

Armin: Yes... Mikasa's been worried about it all day, Annie feels bad about it.

Reiner:😏 Annie? The girl Bertholt likes?

Bertholt: Shut up Reiner...

Armin was perplexed, and then he replied "Annie is the girl with light blonde hair and blue eyes. The one who wears jeans or denim skirts all the time".

Reiner: Annie Leonhart. Yeah. The three of us went to middle school together but she was always the quiet one.

Armin: She still kinda is. But ever since Eren and her started talking, she became a little more talkative. I'm glad for her. She doesn't seem so bad.

Reiner: Right Bertholt?

Bertholt: I said shut up, Reiner.

Armin giggled a bit.

Bertholt: I feel kinda sorry for what happened, how's Mikasa feeling about it?

Armin: Not quite good about it. She's been pissed ever since Principal Smith decided to suspend both Eren and Jean.

Reiner: It's amazing how one nickname can cause all this shit to happen. - he laughed as a cloud of smoke came out of his mouth.

Bertholt: Indeed.

Armin: Guys, I have an odd sensation. Can I tell you about it?

Reiner: Of course, I mean I even told you I smoked weed inside my grandma's bedroom with Marcel and she didn't even realize it.

Bertholt giggled weakly. He wasn't the type of person to laugh so much.

Reiner: so? What did you have to say?

Armin: Well, Mikasa has changed ever since Eren has been talking to Annie.

Reiner smirked, blew more smoke out of his mouth and then said "Well it's obvious, he's his girlfriend."

Armin: Yeah I know, but...but also Annie gets angry whenever Eren dedicates his time to Mik-

Reiner: She wants company probably. Simple as that.

Armin actually thought of something else, but he just went along with what Reiner said. Maybe she did simply just want company.

They stood silent for at least three minutes, and then Reiner brought up Halloween.

Armin: I hate parties. I'm probably not going.

Bertholt: wait where?

Reiner: To Sasha's parents' restaurant, they're having a Halloween party.

Bertholt: Oh, well I'm going only if you're going.

Reiner: Thought so. Armin if Eren goes you'll go too, right?

Armin: I don't know... He pays so much attention to the girls now that I don't know if he'll even think about me.

Reiner: 😏 attention to girls? Which ones?
