Chapter 10: Alone with Someone

After Eren and Mikasa confessed to each other in private (not really, since Jean, Armin, Sasha and Historia were kind of spying on them...), they got together and began dating. Despite the fact that they were together, Eren stilled talked to Annie. Each month they began getting closer and closer, even if it was pretty clear Annie is a very quiet person.

One night, Eren and Mikasa were on a video call, planning on what to do in the weekend.

Eren: I think I might close the call soon, I have to go eat.

Mikasa: Me too, I can smell the spaghetti from here in my room.

Eren: Speaking of dinner, how about we spend some time with each other this weekend?

Mikasa: I don't know, Eren, I might be busy preparing a Halloween Party. But I'm sure Friday night and Sunday I'm free.

Eren: Shit... I can't believe I almost forgot Halloween. And the party too! I didn't know our school is having a party.

Mikasa: I honestly didn't know either at first, but then Hitch hired me to gather up all the decorations for the party.

Eren: No wonder your Dad the other day had the car overflowing with decorations. I thought you guys were having a party.

Mikasa: Nah, I've never really liked parties. I won't participate but I'll definitely help.

Eren: I'm glad. I can help you too if you want.

Mikasa: So... Where do you want to go on Friday Night?

Eren: How about... Taco Bell?

Mikasa: That's all? - she giggled.

Eren: O-Oh I thought you meant for a dinner. Well let's go around Shingashina Mall then.

Mikasa: Fine by me, I'll ask my mom if she can take me.

Carla called her son for dinner.

Eren: Well I gotta go eat now, I'll see you... um... tomorrow at school I guess. Good night dear

Mikasa: Good night, babe.

They both hung up the call, Eren went to eat dinner, and the ravenette girl stood on her bed, hugging her phone. For the very first time in her life, she truly felt in love with someone and loved by someone. It was one of the most amazing feelings ever.

That night, unfortunately, the ravenette girl felt sick at night. Her head ached, her skin was overheated on the rest of her body except for her stomach and back, where she felt cold. She sneezed a few times, and whenever she tried to get up, she felt very weak.

Her mother was surprised when the next morning she wasn't already awake at 6am. She checked on her daughter and got to a conclusion: she had the flu.

Eren: Where the hell did she go?

Armin: I have no idea, I tried calling her, but she has her phone off.

Eren: Her last access was this morning... At 3 am? What the hell?

Armin: I know, right?

Eren: Maybe she had one of her "night-awakenings", like she usually does.

Armin: I got no idea. Maybe she went to school on foot. Who knows. Or maybe she has an errand to run with her family that she forgot to tell us about.

Eren: Who knows... Well, let's just get to school.

Armin: Oh, well.

The two boys went to the bus stop very slowly. It was quite different without Mikasa, especially after her "mysterious disappearance".
