They ducked me into a lean black car. It looked panther-like in the evening light. Inside, the seats were soft and clingy.
The two agents got in the front seats and we were on our way. The pit-bull man was driving. There was silence.
"You really shouldn't have let him talk to the door." The tall man said to the pit-bull man.
"T, I know what I'm doing, okay?"
T sighed. "We're going to have to take him to the institute, now."
"What do you mean?"
"I don't think he told the door to follow us."
"Why would you think that?"
"Because it's not following us."
I shifted uncomfortably.
"Maybe it just needs some time." The pit-bull man replied.
T smirked. "C, I know what I'm doing, okay?"
C snorted. "Fine." He took an exit off the freeway.
