It’d been a few days since the meltdown and your mom had let you stay home up for a few days but today you had to attend if you were going to be allowed at the dance. Josh had gone out of his way to be sweeter than he had ever been all day and you’d allowed yourself to push away the truth about him that you weren’t ready to face.
Nessa, Sab, and Mads were getting ready with you and you sat looking at yourself in the mirror completely numb as Nessa helped Mads with her necklace clasp. Nessa smiled as Mads let down her hair and spun around with a smile: “Absolutely beautiful.”
Mads: “You really think so?”
Jaden: *walking in and interrupting the moment* “So beautiful… wow.”
Mads squealed in excitement and gave Jaden a huge hug. She followed him downstairs to take a few pics before heading to the dance.

You were interrupted by your mom yelling for you to come down. You could hear Josh’s voice at the bottom of the stairs and were taken aback by shock. You didn’t think he would still take you after everything. You stepped down the first step and Josh looked up at you in absolute awe: “Wow… You look amazing.”

Sab: “We can for sure ride in together but this really cute boy from my spanish class named Cooper asked me to save him a dance so here’s hoping I don’t leave alone.”
