Back at the house you asked your Mom if it’d be okay if you and Chase went to grab some ice cream before curfew.
Mom: *teasing* “I don’t know, last time I sent one of my daughters out for ice cream with a Mr. Tall-Dark-and-Handsome she came home with a boyfriend.”
Dad: *scrambling to hand Chase a $20 bill* “Here ice cream is on me.”
You laughed all the way to the car: “I think my Dad has a bigger crush on you than I do.”
Chase: *pushing you up against the car* “You like me or something?”
You: *pushing your lips to his* “Mmmhmmm”
He kissed you back and your heart was hammering so loud you didn’t hear Jaden’s car pull up. He laughed as he passed by you: “Don’t worry about me, lovebirds.”
You: *giggling* “We weren’t.”
You slid out from between Chase and the car and ran around to hop in the passenger seat. As he drove he reached over and placed his hand on your leg where your jeans were torn. You rubbed his hand sweetly against your crossed legs and he slid his hand against your inner thigh.

You felt your insides begin to melt as you clenched to hold back from pulling the wheel and forcing the car onto the side of the road.
*JADEN’S POV*
Mads: “Baby!!! I’m so glad you stopped by. I bought you something while I was at the mall!”
Her dad cleared his throat as she corrected: “Sorry, Dad bought it but it was totally my idea.”
Mads pulled a distressed jean jacket out of a bag and his jaw dropped in awe. It was painted across the back with punk rock graffiti. It was the single most badass thing he’d ever seen.
Jaden: “You got this for me?”
Dad: “It’s totally vintage and this place at the mall paints them and sells- Sorry- Carry on.”
Mads: *giggling* “I think my Dad likes you more than I do.”
Jaden: *smiling bigger than he ever had “Well I hope not.”
Mads: *holding the jacket up for Jaden to slip into* “It fits perfectly!”
Her parents smiled and excused themselves to go to their room early like they usually did so they could wind down before bed.
Mads: “Do you really love it?”
Jaden: “It’s literally amazing… just like you.”
He wrapped the jacket around her shoulders and with a hand on either side he used it to pull her into a kiss.
Jaden: “There’s something I need to talk to you about…”
Mads pulled back from the kiss: “Should I be worried?”
Jaden: “I think I’m going to try to talk to Nessa tomorrow. I know you said you don’t care that her and I are friends but there’s something you should know.”
Mads: “I already know you two got together last summer but if you tell me there’s nothing there anymore then I believe you.”
Jaden: “To be honest there was nothing romantic there even over the summer. It was just hooking up and that is totally over but she’s going through something… something deep and she doesn’t let anyone in- like ever. And I feel like I can get through to her.”
Mads: *slipping her arms into Jaden’s oversized jacket* “Then do what you need to. I meant it; I trust you.”
Jaden: “Why do you look so cute in that?”
Mads pulled out her phone to snap a selfie but Jaden grabbed it… I’ll do even better. Let’s make a video.”

As they finished up posting the tiktok, her sister and Chase walked in still laughing from whatever conversation they’d been in before opening the door.
Chase: *dropping his conversation* “Mads! Dude, is that your jacket? That’s badass!”
Mads: “It’s Jaden’s. Isn’t it awesome? I found it at the mall while you were with my Mom and sister at the lingerie store.”
Jaden: *raising his eyebrow* “The lingerie store? Not sure I got the better gift.”
Everyone burst into laughing as Mads suggested you guys watch a movie all together on the couch. It was halfway through the movie and no one had been paying attention for a while. Mads was curled up with her head in Jaden’s lap and playing on her phone.

Jaden and Chase were deep in a conversation about music and the songs Jaden had already released on tiktok while you just listened in awe.
Chase: “I can’t believe you’re getting so many views on your music vids. I always assumed you had that many followers because of Josh, no offense.”
Jaden: “No, man. The growth was almost all based on my music. You really need to upload one of your songs.”
Chase: “I don’t know… I mean I have a few written but I’ve never actually sang before in front of anyone.”
You: “Maybe you guys can hang out and he can help you prep one to share?”
Chase: “I don’t know. He’s already making bangers so I’m sure he’s too busy-”
