He was still furious that no one understood why he was so mad over this tiktok situation. He'd worked for years to build an online presence just to have someone pop up and make a few videos and go viral.
He'd made a move on her because he thought they could help each other out and to be honest, she looked hot but she decided to make an enemy out of him instead… for what? First his ex wasn't giving him the time of day and who knew what Nessa's problem was. What he needed was to show up with an even more poppin girl to the bonfire so he could show them all he was just fine. His phone went off with an almost immediate response that sent his phone flying to the floor in frustration.

The senior bonfire was the kickoff for the last month of school before graduation. All the 12th graders, and their guests, spend the day at the lake and end the night with a huge bonfire. By the time you got there most everyone was already splashing around on the lake.

You finally spotted Nessa and Mads laying out on their towels, next to the water just soaking up the springtime sun. Even though Mads was still a freshman, she'd been Jaden's obvious plus one. You pulled your t-shirt off, then adjusted your bikini top and shorts before laying on the ground next to them.
Mads: *leaning over to whisper* "Chase hasn't taken his eyes off of you since you walked over here. Are you gonna talk to him?"
Nessa: "What's with the weirdo staring?"
You: *unable to wipe the smile from your face* "Yeah, weird."
You hopped up and made an excuse to walk past him. The drinks were a few feet away and bending over a cooler to dig for a can would definitely do the trick.
Nessa: "Is she ever gonna admit she likes him?"
Mads looked shocked, not sure what she should confirm or deny when Nessa let her off the hook: "I mean, he's definitely tragically uncool but lowkey kinda cute."
You wandered back towards the water and waded out where Avani and Anthony were floating on rafts.
Anthony: "I think it's cool they let underclassmen and like students from other schools as your dates."
Avani: *scooting over to let you climb on her raft* "It sucks. Prom is about the only event they let outside dates at his school."
You: "Is it weird being in different schools? How did you even meet?"
Avani: "My man slid in the insta DMs."
You couldn't help but laugh because they were just so perfect even the way they looked at each other clearly remembering the beginning of what they were now.
You: "At least you're graduating soon then school won't be in the way- unless, wait- what are you guys doing after that?"
Anthony: "We are getting an apartment in the city together this summer for sure."
You: "God, I still have no idea what I'm going to do. It'd be nice if Chase and I ended up at the same school."
Avani: "Ant and I already got into the same school so that part is set."
You: "You're going to cosmetology school too, Anthony?"
Anthony: *laughing* "Oh God, no. I can barely remember to get a haircut much less be responsible for someone else's."
You: "I thought you were going to school for makeup, Avani?"
Anthony corrects you: "I'm going to film school and they have a really amazing special effects makeup program."
You: "Ohhhh. I don't know why, I just assumed she'd be studying beauty makeup because she's so good at it."
Anthony: "She’s done special effects makeup forever.. That's what she blew up on tiktok for-"
Avani tried to silence him but your jaw had already dropped: "Oh my God. It's you!"
Avani: "Shhhh. You can't tell anyone. Not even Chase knows."
