Everyone was in the waiting room when the nurse walked out and asked: “Who’s the father?”
Everyone looked around for Josh when Jaden stepped forward: “Oh, uh- I guess that’s still me.”
Nurse: “She is wanting you, Mom. Go on back, but you sir… I need you to fill out some forms about her medical history because she’s progressing too fast to ask her.”
Kouvr hugged Jaden and reassured him: “It’ll be okay just ask Alex for help if you need to.”
Nurse: “What made you wait so long to bring her in? She’s about to deliver and said she’s been having stomach pains for 3 days.”
Jaden: “I- I had no idea. She didn’t tell me.”
Jaden and Alex worked through the paperwork then handed it back to the front desk before sitting back down absolutely exhausted. He turned and smiled at Cynthia who had come along with the group. She laughed: “So Rockstar is the Daddy?”
Jaden: “It’s complicated.”
Cynthia: “I get complicated. This isn’t exactly what I imagined for a first date.”
They both laughed as the doors glided open and a panicked Josh rushed in and up to the counter: “Nessa Barrett was brought in earlier? Is she okay? I need to know she’s okay!!!”

The nurse lectured him about family and father are the only ones who get updates. He began to lose his temper as Alex pulled him away from the counter: “Come here, bud. We don’t know much yet, but I’ll catch up on what we do know.”
Josh sat with this head in his hands feeling completely helpless as you leaned your head against his shoulder. You felt awful for him because it was obvious he cared about Nessa and this baby a lot more than he’d ever cared about anything. Jaden sat across from you, giving Josh dirty looks. He still held a grudge that he hadn’t talked to her in 3 days and hadn’t been there for her tonight: “I can’t believe you had the nerve to show up here after what you’ve put her through.”
Josh: “That’s my baby in there and no amount of pretending is going to change it.”
Before tension could boil over Kouvr rushed out looking absolutely exhausted: “She’s here and she’s absolutely perfect.”
Josh’s look of relief was crushed as Kouvr explained: “She wants to see Jaden.”
Mads hugged him and encouraged him to go as Chase came back from the cafeteria with a handful of sodas. He handed both you and Josh one and didn’t seem threatened at all about you comforting him.
*NESSA’S POV*
When Jaden walked in and saw Nessa looking more beautiful than ever holding a perfect little baby in her arms he melted next to her and took the baby from her arms.

Nessa: “It wasn’t fair to put all of this on you.”
Jaden: “I meant everything I promised you, Nessa.”
Nessa: “Then keep them… as her Godfather.”
Kouvr walked in and melted at the site of Jaden with Nessa’s baby. He was going to make such an amazing father someday. She finally worked up to telling Nessa: “Josh is here but hey… you tell me what you want and I’m going to go make it happen.”
Nessa: “I’m just scared. What if he lets her down the way he’s always let every girl down before her.”
Jaden: “I won’t ever let that happen to my Goddaughter. I can’t control him but I promise you she won’t ever miss out.”
