It was the 3rd day of spring break and you were so grateful for the days off of school. Josh hadn't spoken to you in the 3 weeks since you showed up to his house so you assume that meant he hadn't noticed you and Chase spending time together outside of school. Then again, you hadn't really posted anything to social media just the 2 of you and even in the hallways never acted very coupley. You were both still navigating this whole relationship thing. You were having the absolute best time of your life with Chase but still hadn't made anything official. You tried not to stress too much about that because Avani had reassured you that it would happen soon.
Today you were hanging out at Chase's house in the yard completely soaked from the water guns you'd found while you helped him clean out the garage for his parents. You had dumped a bucket of water over his head and he'd declared war and was holding you at a distance by threatening to unleash the entire water hose on you.

You: "Don't you dare, Chase Hudson!"
Avani came outside and jogged over: "Whatcha guys doing out here? All done with the garage cleanup?"
Chase didn't even give her a proper response before squeezing the kink in the hose and completely saturating his fully clothed best friend.
Avani: "Oh you are DEADMEAT!"
You laughed harder than you ever have watching her chase after him with a handful of mud she'd scooped up from under her flinging it at him as he screamed like a girl. Avani collapsed next to you in the grass, laughing: "That should teach him to mess with us."
After Chase rinsed the mud off with the hose he came and sat down next to the 2 of you.
You: "Feeling better baby?"
Chase: "I definitely need a real shower if we're going to go back to your house for dinner."
You: "Awe, I'm having fun with Avani here. I'm sure my parents won't mind especially since Mads isn't even home."
Chase: "I still can't believe that they let her go on that beach trip with Jaden's family."
Avani: "I have an idea. You should totally ask to stay the night at my house tonight."
You jumped up to go inside and call your mom, leaving Chase and Avani to talk in the yard.
*CHASE'S POV*

Chase: "Glad you two are getting along so well."
Avani: "She's awesome but speaking of getting along well... are you ever going to make it official and ask this girl out?"
