Part 26

-THE ART OF PATIENCE-

Markus- (squints eyes) We haven't heard any word from Caeth. Have we?

Madame Eriyak- No. We haven't heard a single thing Master. (Bends and bows her head).

Markus- That is odd. Hmm. Anyway never mind. We shall proceed with the phases of the plan without him. A little birdie told me that he's been spending time with a Monster Hunter.

Madame Eriyak- (Forms an Icicle blade) Would you like me to take care of her Master?

Markus- Not right now. Let's wait & see if our dear Caeth will come back to his senses. I quite can't seem to believe that he's serious about this so -called Monster Hunter. (Rolls his eyes).

Madame Eriyak- (Throws her icicle blade into a tree trunk).

Markus- You must be getting bored. Don't worry. The trees near the mine can be your targets for now. But soon I have a strong feeling that we'll have a special guest at the office. Come now. Let's go get ready before our guest, or guests arrive.

Vanessa- (yawns) Caeth, are we at the Telura mine yet?

Caeth- Nope. Not yet. (Sighs).

Vanessa- Why are we even heading there anyway?

Caeth- You just have to see it for yourself. It's a beautiful place.

Vanessa knelt down and asked her ancestors to be with her on the way to the Terula mine. She wasn't too familiar with this mining area. Caeth did his best to tell her that he knew where he head going. He didn't want her to worry about a thing.

The duo arrived near the mine. Caeth then had a frown on his face.

Vanessa- What's with your facial expression?

Caeth- (in a concerned tone) This doesn't make any sense. The Terula mine is active again. But how is this possible?

Vanessa- What do you mean active again?

Caeth- The last time I was here— well, there were no machines or beings working here. And now.... it looks like the mine was never closed.

Vanessa- Hmmm. Okay. Isn't that a good thing?

Caeth- No...not really. I mean,-uh, this just doesn't seem right. Something is not okay in this picture. I have a strong feeling that someone is behind all of this sudden change.

Vanessa- Really? Who could that be?

Caeth stared into the distance and didn't say a word. He pointed to the office that was located past the machines.

Vanessa- What's the next move?

Caeth- I have to check on an old pal of mine. (He said with a slight growl).

Vanessa- (looks at the office) Who is this pal of yours?

Caeth- (with clenched fists) Markus!

In the office Madame Eriyak's eyes glowed a bright blue. Markus smiled and nodded his head.

Vanessa grabbed one of her daggers and placed it in her left hand. She made sure to check to see if all her weapons were in the right spots/locations.

Out of thin air before their very eyes, a lady with an ice-like body and crystal like swords came rushing towards them. She seemed to be floating above the ground. Her movements were quick as lightning. Vanessa ducked & avoided all the attacks aimed at her. Caeth had no clue who this crazy person was. She looked somewhat human, but she also looked like a strange frozen creature, or monster.
