THE ENCHANTMENT

The stars twinkled in the night sky. What a beautiful sight. The starry bodies shined like precious stones. Caeth gazed and wondered at the beauty he saw...not only of the stars, but the Monster Hunter, Vanessa as well.

Vanessa: I love seeing the bright stars in the night. Don't you?

Caeth cleared his throat. And smiled at Vanessa. He nodded his head. He wanted this night to last forever. Vanessa later waved her hands across Caeth's face.

Vanessa: Earth to Caeth. Are you awake?

Caeth: Of coure. Yes, I'm awake. What's the matter with you?

Vanessa: Nothing. I should be the one asking you that. You keep staring into space. What are you thinking about?

Caeth coughed and then laughed nervously.

Caeth: Don't worry. I was only thinking that it's time for bed. Have no fear, this forest doesn't have any Monsters. Well, actually what am I even saying. You're a Monster Hunter. The Monsters here, if there are any— should actually be afraid of you.

Vanessa smiled. A little while later they had started a fire, and made a place to rest for the night. They used the enormous soft leaves of the trees as their beds.

Caeth: So, I...eh- just wanted to say- I have had a great time travelling with you lately.

Caeth moved closer towards her and Vanessa felt like she was held in a trance.

Vanessa: I have loved travelling with you, Caeth.

Caeth stared deeply into Vanessa's eyes. For a moment, her eyes reminded him of bright stars & gems. Her eyes sparkled and he brushed his hand across her cheek.

Vanessa: Caeth...

Caeth: Sshh. Don't say another word.

The next thing Vanessa knew her armor was laying on the ground. Her body was sent into waves of a great shock. She felt every hand movement all over her. Caeth carefully and slowly kissed every inch of Vanessa. After a few seconds he stopped.

Vanessa: Caeth?

Caeth: I must control myself Vanessa. (Smiles) Or would you like me to continue?

Vanessa nodded her head. Caeth smiled.

*************************

Vanessa lay on her bed and sighed ever so softly. Caeth failed to fall asleep. His heart and mind were racing with so many thoughts. He loved being with Vanessa. But she was a Monster Hunter. He knew that Svrok was not going to like this at all.

Caeth kissed Vanessa's forehead before getting up and heading back to his own bed. He closed his eyes and tried his best to go to sleep. Ah, maybe counting sheep would help.

A few minutes later Caeth felt a gentle breeze blow past the forest. Huh. Caeth leaned over to one side and he checked on Vanessa. She was still fast asleep. He sat on his bed after a short while. As he enjoyed the warmth of the fire, he finally noticed that it was not burning the usual red anymore. It was now a leafy-green colour.

Caeth watched the flames rise. They moved in a burst and then vanished into thin air. Then several seconds later the flames changed back to their former red-scarlet flames.

With the flames back to normal, Caeth decided that he was now ready for bed. But then he heard someone drawing a sword. What now? Who could it be?

Caeth quickly jumped to his feet. He looked around the forest. Nothing. Was someone playing a trick on him? Who could be trying to attack him at such a late hour?

He spotted his enemy. Caeth couldn't believe his eyes. Was he dreaming? There before his very eyes was Vanessa's armor. One thing was certain. Someone must have taken control over it. The armor started advancing towards Caeth. It had Vanessa's sword in it's hand.

Caeth ran further away from the resting spot. He drew the possessed armor away from Vanessa.

The sword looked different from what Caeth could tell. It had a green flame attached at the end of the sword's sharp point. It was just like the colour of the fire right a while back.

All he wanted to do now was go to sleep. Now some crazy possessed armor was coming after him.

Caeth stopped running and faced his enemy. The armor seemed to be chuckling. A puff of green smoke came out of the mouth of the helmet. Maybe it was Vanessa's Dad's spirit coming after him for touching his beloved daughter. He shouldn't have touched her.

Caeth fell to his knees and begged for forgiveness from the armor. The armor walked in a steady pace closer & closer towards Caeth. It raised it's sword and swung the sword at Caeth.

He bent backward and nearly missed from getting his head chopped. The armor screamed and shouted in a loud voice. Caeth then used both his feet to hit the aarmor on it's chest. The armor fell backwards and landed on it's back.

The green flame of the sword died down. And the armor all seemed to lose it's fighting spirit.

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Vanessa stretched and rose from her bed. She thought she would see Caeth still in bed. But he wasn't there. Where could he have wandered off to?

She turned around when she heard a good morning from behind her. Vanessa smiled at Caeth. Then raised her eyebrow. What was he doing with her armor?

Vanessa: Why do you have my armor?

Caeth: (Smiles) Sorry about that. You're not going to believe me if I tell you. Your armor tried to attack me.

Vanessa: What? It tried to attack you?

Caeth: (Sighs) I thought it was you. I mean, I thought you were the one wearing it. But for some odd reason it seemed to have been possessed or something.

Vanessa stared at Caeth and then her armor. And here she thought that nothing strange was going to happen.

Vanessa: Okay. Do you have any idea who would take control over my armor?

Caeth: (shakes his head) No. Not really... Hmm. Then again. The only name that comes to mind is....Svrok. He's the only one I know that can pull of something like this.

Vanessa: Then let's go find him. How dare he try to take control and possess my armor.

Caeth: Calm down. I'm sure he can explain why he did this.

Vanessa packed all her belongings in her bag and started heading back on track.

Caeth: Hey, Vanessa. Do you even know where Svrok is?

Vanessa stopped in her tracks and then turned around.

Caeth: Let me lead the way. Come on. Trust me. I know exactly where Svrok is.
