Part 31

The drums beat proclaiming the arrival of the Grand Chieftainess Oni. She approached her people with a calming presence. Chieftainess Oni raised her cane & the beating of the drums was cancelled. A heavy silence fell over the crowds of the people.

Chieftainess Oni: My dear people. We are gathered here to welcome a new visitor among us. Please, let's all show kindness towards him.

Svrok bowed and smiled at the Chieftainess. The Elders of the village all seemed to be worried about Svrok. He looked like nothing else but trouble. But the Elders didn't say a word to their Chieftainess. They simply agreed to welcome Svrok.

The drummers got a wave of approval to carry on drumming. And so they did. While they were in the full spirit of dance 'nd music, Svrok was led by a small group of young ladies. They showed him around the area.

Svrok witnessed many kids playing outside. They were running around with giant leaves that looked like paper planes. He sighed. The children were having so much fun. He glanced around the whole kingdom. These folks were surrounded by a lot of natural resources. A vast plain of evergreen grass. There were plenty pockets of water surrounding the home grounds too.

The group of young ladies later escorted Svrok to his new comfy home. He beamed with joy and thanked his escorts. They giggled as they walked away.

Later in the night, Svrok lay still on his bed. He could hardly fall asleep. He had a lot to do. He just hoped that nothing, and no one would interfere in his plans. Maybe this was what he needed after all. To be in a calm environment, far away from all his troubles. He still couldn't believe that Caeth was with the Monster Hunter.

Svrok closed his eyes. He imagined seeing Caeth change his mind. And Vanessa leaving Caeth alone. That was a comforting idea. With that thought on his mind, he drifted into sleep mode.
