Diamond's POV
I was originally gonna go down to town or something but I really wanted to just be away from everything. This is gonna sound weird but I like dark alley ways. It reminds me of New York. And I kinda miss it up there. Well, some of it.
"DIAMOND!" I heard a collective yell behind me. Dallas, Johnny, and Ponyboy came running around the corner.
"What the hell do you guys want?"
"You need to get out of here." Ponyboy said out of breath.
"Why?" I asked with a hint of confusion. I saw the red and blue lights flash onto the building next to us. "Shit..." I mumbled.
"Do you have a brother?" Dallas asked.
I shook my head. "No. You know that."
"We saw someone who looked just like you getting out of a cop car. They mentioned your name." Ponyboy said.
"Ok. You guys are gonna be going back to New York with me if you don't get out of here. Run down there and go home." I said strictly.
"But-" Johnny started.
"NOW!" I yelled.
Ponyboy and Johnny looked at each other hesitantly and ran down the alley way.
"What are you waiting for?" I asked Dallas.
"Are you seriously just gonna let them do this?"
"The more I resist the more likely I'll have to go to jail. I'll take your advice and get a lawyer. The only thing I did wrong was hide it all to protect myself. I'm going to jail. I'm just gonna try and not go to jail for life, ok?"
I heard people yelling and sirens getting closer. I felt my heartrate quicken. "You're just gonna go back by yourself?" He yelled.
"I DON'T HAVE A CHOICE! GET OUT OF HERE OR YOU'RE GOING BACK TOO!" I screamed.
I saw someone turn the corner and they had something in their hand. "HEY! GRAB HIM!" A cop yelled. He raised the thing in his hand and I realized it was a gun. Dallas was rambling on about how much of an idiotic move this was but I didn't care.
"MOVE!" I yelled. He turned around and I leaned against the wall and kicked him over to the other side of the alley. I heard the gun go off and it hit me in the side of my stomach. I tumbled over in pain. I let out a scream as I fell to the ground.
"Fuck..." I heard Dallas mumble. I was still there. I wasn't dead. I was very much alive and aware of what was going on.
Dallas bent down to the floor and kept saying my name. "Diamond?" He asked for the final time.
"Go!" I yelled as loud as I could.
"You're gonna die!" He yelled.
"I'll be fine." I mumbled clutching my stomach.
Dallas' POV
Diamond fell to the ground as the bullet glazed her stomach. I was unsure of what to do. I cursed under my breath and bent down to try and help her. She really wanted me to leave but I couldn't just let her stay here. I don't know what these people are gonna do. They might just let her die.
"Diamond, come on." I said trying to reassure her that she would be fine. I thought maybe if I said it enough I'd beliebe it.
"Just get out!" She kept trying to get me to go away but I just couldn't. She leaned against the wall and tried to hold back her tears but it wasn't working too well.
