Diamond's POV
I walked down to the park and Darry was right. They were playing football. I saw Steve running backwards trying to catch the football.
"I GOT IT!" He yelled.
I caught it and he fell backwards. "I don't got it."
"Hey guys." I said with a grin. They all stopped. "Don't get too excited. I got a question for you guys."
I walked over to the picnic table on the left of us. They all slowly walked over. Steve, Soda and Two-Bit sat across from me while Ponyboy sat next to me and Johnny next to him. Ponyboy kept moaning and groaning about sitting next to me. But I didn't care.
"Alright. I'm gonna ask a question and you're gonna answer straight forward. Then I'm leaving. Alright?" They all nodded. "What is something that Dallas hates the most?"
They gave me a confused look. "Something he hates?" Two-Bit asked.
"That's what I said, isn't it?"
"Umm... he hates tomatos." Ponyboy said.
"I'll keep that in mind, but is there anything else?"
"He answered straight forward. I thought you said you'd leave!" Sodapop yelled.
"Raise your voice at me again. I dare you." I said looking at him right in the eye. He didn't say anything after that. "That's what I thought." I said a bit quieter but loud enough so he could hear me.
"He hates being second. Or losing in general." Steve said.
"Oh really?" I thought for a second. "Who would you guys consider his best friend?"
"Johnny." They all said at the same time.
"Ponyboy." Johnny said after them.
I looked at Johnny. I knew he didn't want to be involved with my tricks but I didn't really care. I shoved Ponyboy. "Move." I scolded. He fell under the table and I moved closer to Johnny. "Hey. When is the next time you plan on seeing Dallas?"
"We're going to the drive in tonight." He said.
"Well, now you're going with me."
"I dunno. He's gonna be pretty mad." He said thinking about it.
"I'll give you twenty bucks." I said straightforwardly.
"I guess I'm going with you tonight." He said.
"Really?" Ponyboy asked getting up from under the table and up to where I was sitting before.
"Twenty bucks is twenty bucks." Johnny said.
"That's exactly what I want to hear." I said. "I'll see ya tonight."
I was about to get up but Ponyboy was in my spot. "Move" I said pushing him to the ground. He groaned. I threw the football at Sodapop. "See ya guys later." I said with a fake smile.
I walked back to Buck's and it sounded like Dallas was in the shower. I fully got ready and I was anxious all day. This better work and it better piss Dallas off.
I watched as the clock turned to 6:55 and I went downstairs. I overheard that Dallas was planning on leaving at 7:00 so I left early to beat him there. But not too early so that he wouldn't even see me leave with Johnny.
I got there and everyone was scattered around the house. Is this just what they do?
"Hey, Johnny." I said trying to sound perky. "Dallas is right behind me so we'll leave in 5 minutes."
"Alright." He said rolling his eyes.
"I saw that. But I'm gonna pretend I didn't."
"Umm... did I miss something?" Darry asked.
Ponyboy nodded at him. I just shrugged.
Dallas walked in. "Let's go." He said throwing his jacket onto the couch.
"Who are you talking to?" I asked.
"What are you doing here?" Dallas asked me. I raised an eyebrow. "I'm just curious."
"Johnny and I are going to the drive in." I said.
"Umm... no you aren't."
"Umm... yes I am." I said mocking him.
"Johnny, what is she talking about?"
"What are you talking about?" He asked in reponse.
"I- Are you serious? We made plans to go to the drive in tonight on Thursday. Why are you changing your plans to go with her?"
"Why not?"
I barged in. "Jeez. Calm down. Not everything is about you." I said rolling my eyes.
"I just don't understand. Are we not going?" Dallas asked Johnny.
"Nope. See ya later." Johnny said quickly.
We walked out the door and we walked one way. "Alright. Here's the money. I'll see ya in two hours at Bucks."
"See ya."
And as soon as we were out of sight from the house, we went our separate ways for two hours.
Dallas' POV
"Are they serious?" I asked when they walked out the door.
"Did I miss something?" Darry asked.
"Yes." Everyone said to him.
"Well, what did we miss?" I asked. Nobody responded. "I'm going home." I mumbled slamming the door.
Diamond's POV
I walked around town for a bit and just basically went shopping. I really am throwing away my money and I need to stop with it.
But two hours went by and I went back to Bucks and waited outside for Johnny. I was going through my stuff and Johnny walked up behind me.
"Sorry I'm late." He said.
"It's fine. Just go along with what I say." I said opening the door.
Dallas was inside the empty building by himself getting something from the bar. It looked like he was getting a water but if he planned on getting drunk, I didn't wanna mess with him too much.
"Well, I'll see ya later." I said to Johnny.
"See ya."
That was easy enough.
"What's with all the bags?" Dallas asked.
He didn't sound wasted or anything. "I went shopping." I said going upstairs.
"Johnny went shopping with you?" He asked. He didn't believe it. I nodded. "I swear to God..." He mumbled.
He threw his drink down and glass shattered. I didn't realize he had a beer in his hand. Oops.
But I went upstairs and put everything I bought away. Boy was I ready for bed.
Dallas was definitely drinking. He kept throwing up last night. Our bathrooms share the same wall so while I was in the shower, he was puking his guts out.
Well, I feel like I got what I wanted.
Kiss my ass, Dallas.
