Chapter 5

A loud laugh escapes my mouth as I lean against Stephanie, throwing my head back. My phone is laying in my hand, but because elf the laughter, it falls down into the wooden floor.

"Oh my god, I can't believe we posted these videos," Willow, Liam's wife, says between laughter, clutching her stomach.

Last night, the girls and I were completely wasted. Our girls night consisted of a lot of bottles of wine, Selena Gomez and the scene music, and posting drunken videos on our Instagram pages. It was a night that I desperately needed.

"Oh my god, we are so fucking stupid," Heather, Louis's wife, says chuckling. She rings her hand through her blonde hair, still laughing.

A laugh leaves my mouth before I bend down to grab my phone, seeing the text that Niall has sent me.

I let a shaky sigh escape my lips. Stephanie immediately looks over my shoulder, sighing. She wraps her arms around me, hugging me tightly, "I'm sure he just wants to hear your voice. How long has it been since you've talked?"

"It's been like a week, Steph. He's just so busy, he barely has time to talk to the kids," I say softly.

"Has he talked to the kids?" Julia, Zayn's wife, asks as her brown eyes meet mine. The bags underneath her eyes show that we barely had any sleep last night.

"Yeah, just like five minutes every day. No time for me," I say softly, forcing a smile.

"I haven't talked very much to Louis either. They're just so busy," Heather says sighing, "It really sucks. I really thought that all this would be done with by now."

"Has Josie bothered you at all?" Julia asks.

"She just seems to pop up whenever the kids are on the phone with him. Of course there's rumors and everything," I respond shrugging. The rumors will never stop, it's something that I had to learn very early on.

"Go on and call him. If it ends up going bad, I'll pull out some more wine and have Elliott watch the kids longer," Stephanie says, giving me a supportive smile. I nod, smiling at her before getting up and walking towards the back door.

I walk outside, dialing his number.

"Hey, babe," Niall says, answering immediately.

"Hi," I say softly. My heart flutters at his voice, and it brings a slight smile to my lips. I still can't believe he's able to do this with just his voice after so many years.

"How are you? I'm sorry we haven't had time to talk."

"I'm okay. Just going with the flow, I guess. How are you? How's tour?"

"I'm doing good. I remember why I hate all the traveling. It's different now that I'm old," he says, chuckling.

A small laugh erupts from my mouth, "Is the tour going okay?"
