A new day. The sun rose up from the horizon. It shined brightly as ever. Y/N's new bedroom was shared with the mother's, Hana. Hana was a lovely lady that cherished her like a daughter when she first arrived. Y/N was cautious of her at first, but soon warmed up to her motherly love. They were like a family. Although Kotaro didn't talk to her much, she wanted to know why, but every time she tried talking to him, he ignored her and looked away.

He wasn't like that the first time she met him, he complimented her soup and had a small conversation with him and his mother all together. Now, he wouldn't bat an eye to talk to her. The most interaction that she got from him was when she asked yes or no questions, he would simply just nod or shake his head. This annoyed Y/N, but she shook it off most of the time. She doesn't understand why he wouldn't talk to her, he was like another Uraume, but much more responsive and respectful.

She would always catch him stealing a glance at her, but she never asked why. There was no point in asking why, she knew he wouldn't talk about it, so she just let him eye her like she was some pretty object. Y/N didn't like to think of herself that way, it outright pisses her off. She wasn't some kind of item anybody can just pick off the shelves and buy.

But Y/N didn't want to go off on Kotaro, he did help her and aid her, she couldn't be disrespectful and seem ungrateful, that was rude and Y/N wasn't the type of person to do that. She was mature and knew what was right and wrong, kind of. How Y/N thinks is a bit particular. She wasn't the one to judge a person based on what they did, what kind of personality they had, or what they did in the past. She wasn't one to tell someone if they were wrong or right. Y/N wouldn't think anything about other people, in fact, she doesn't care.

Hana was currently talking to her son. They were having a loud conversation. It seemed that she wanted her son to do a favour for her, but he wouldn't take it, he refused. "I don't understand why you can't help the butcher! The work's not hard, you're just going to be there for a couple hours. It's not going to be that bad, I promise." Kotaro refused.

"I don't want to. You know the butcher's daughter fancies me. I just am not interested in her. You can't force me to do that!" Kotaro argued back at Hana. His mother's face was all red, she was furious with him.

"I am not sending you there for their daughter, I'm sending you there to earn some extra money. God, how foolish are you? Why does everything come back to me setting you up with a woman? Even if I am trying to set you up, I'm just worried about you. I want you to get married, get me grandchildren. I want to see you with a family." Hana ranted, she paused to catch her breath. On the other hand, Kotaro's mouth was closed, a firm line was painted on his face. Y/N couldn't tell if he was upset or just unsure of what to think.

Y/N knew she shouldn't be eavesdropping. If she could pull away, she would. But what she was interested in the most in that conversation, was an errand for the butcher. Y/N wanted that job, just to repay her debts to the old man. Y/N would definitely ask Hana if she could take the job, but she didn't want to interrupt a feud between a son and a mother. So Y/N just awkwardly stood there in the distance, Kotaro and Hana didn't notice her presence at all.

The atmosphere around them was absolutely terrifying. If Y/N had a mother, and was in that situation, she would quickly apologise and make up with her mother. Observing the situation, she would never want to face the wrath of a mother.

Hana started to continue her argument with her son. "I'm not going to be around forever, I want you to have someone after I die. I refuse to have you walk alone in this world..." Hana finished, she didn't want to hear what her son had to say. She quickly left him.

As Hana storms out, she accidentally bumps into Y/N. Hana's mind was too cloudy to even apologise to her. Hana simply glanced at Y/N and continued to walk away from her home. Y/N didn't know where she was going, but it was best if she left her alone for now.
