The camp was bustling with many busy people. They all went from left to right, up and down, and the opposite way around, they were all over the place. It was lively and wonderful, but Y/N can't help but stand out of the crowd. Those who were training were some sort or sorcery, she never knew how it worked, but she did know that she does not inherit this trait. It was a shame, it would have made her much stronger to stand up against Sukuna. Maybe if she were to have this sorcery, she would have a place to fit in, and maybe she would have met Kotaro first instead of Sukuna. But nothing can change the past.
Right now, they stood there, inside a large tent, with many people surrounding them. Y/N assumed they were the people who ran this place, they all looked important with such a stoic look painted on their faces. They were intimidating, but at least they weren't evil and vile as Sukuna. The men looked at each other's faces as an indication of unsureness. They weren't aware about the previous events Y/N has been through, but she knew she shall be interrogated if she wished to stay. In true reality, she would rather not stay with people that she didn't fit in with, but in respect for Kotaro, she will fight to stay with him, just for now.
Many people kept on whispering, but Y/N and Kotaro couldn't hear what they were discussing. Finally, the talking stopped, and all eyes were focused on them. They judged them, some gave unsure looks while others gave a slight glare towards her. Was it because she didn't know anything about jujutsu sorcery? The old man who greeted them first when they first arrived at the village stood and came towards them, this time, his face looked different, they didn't hint at a single emotion, it was impossible to read what he was thinking.
Silence roamed through the room and the old man spoke. "Kotaro, you've requested the stay of Y/N. Is that correct?" His eyes pierced through Kotaro's soul pleading for an answer. "Yes sir." His head nodded, but the old man's stare continued. Kotaro was unsure of the situation, he was sure they were going to accept her without a second thought, like how he was taken in immediately, but this situation was different, but why? They had no reason to reject her stay, their job as jujutsu sorcerers was to protect humans from cursed spirits, so what was the reason?
Kotaro always thought of Y/N as a good person, he knows her, and they don't, it baffled him that no one said anything. Kotaro knew that she was not bad, he was sure that she was not a curse either, nothing made sense to him. The silence in the room was so loud that he could hear his ears buzzing. Kotaro was starting to get uncomfortable by the stares he was getting in the room, but there was nothing he could do to prevent it. All he could do was listen in silence.
The old man sighed, and the council watched intensely to see the scene unfold. Kotaro didn't know what he was going to say, but everyone in the room knew that it was not going to be good news. "My boy, have you ever heard about the rumours of the 'King of Curses'?" His question came completely out of the blue, but as Y/N heard this title, she completely froze. Y/N didn't understand why they were bringing him up, he had no significance here, at least that's what she thought.
Kotaro had no idea who he was referring to, or why this was relevant in their conversation. "The 'King of Curses' is a curse going by the title of Ryoumen Sukuna. He is one of the most powerful curses in jujutsu history and has terrorised many women and children." Kotaro was even more confused, but the council surrounding them didn't seem phased at the old man's words. "It is our mission as jujutsu sorcerers to eliminate him, but over the years, he has defeated hundreds of us. It will be difficult to take him down." He stopped for a slight pause, and Kotaro looked over to Y/N to see if she understood anything, but Y/N didn't dare meet his gaze. Her head was down out of guilt and terror.
"Jujutsu sorcerers use their cursed energy and make techniques out of it. From there, they use this power to exorcise cursed spirits. That is our purpose." The old man turned away and walked around the room in circles, particularly, he circled Y/N and Kotaro. "Each individual has a particular energy that identifies the individual," He stopped right in front of Y/N. "Ryoumen Sukuna's cursed energy surrounds you, my dear. Why is that?" His suspicious eyes strictly looked into her, there was no answer Y/N could give.
