Chapter 35

"Where do you think she could be?" Yuuji asked the group, but no one replied. "Do you think they would have documentation on her?" Nobara asked, but Gojo disagreed. "They probably didn't document anything a thousand years ago, but I could check out some old books that had to do with the sorcery world back then." Gojo grinned mischievously. "Yeah, don't do illegal things, sensei." Megumi sighed. Yuuji scratched his head with both of his hands, he was getting annoyed with all of this. Currently, they were all gathered at a table writing and constructing theories of what happened to Y/N, and if she was alive. One main thing stood out to Yuuji, Sukuna didn't want to be any part of this investigation, even if it was about his lover. He refused to say another word about it. Normally, a person would go through long lengths to find their lost lover, but it felt like Sukuna had completely lost it, he didn't believe she was still out there, even if they found some evidence that led to her being alive. "Do we at least have a picture of her?" Nobara suggested. "Maybe Sukuna has something." Megumi replied, but Yuuji quickly cut into the conversation. "I already tried bringing him out, he wouldn't talk to me. He didn't even want to use my body. This Y/N person seems completely unrealistic." Yuuji squinted his eyes.

"There's really nothing about her. It felt like she was erased from history. No documents, no appearance. Nothing!" Nobara slammed her hands on the table. This was a hard mystery to solve. "That's not completely true." Maki entered the room. Everyone had their eyes on her. "I gathered some documents from the Zen'in, and based on the information you shared with us, I found something interesting." Maki waved a stack of documents in one of her hands. The trio's eyes widened in surprise. They were grateful to her for helping them. Maki dropped the documents on the table, it was one thick pile, but maybe it had something useful in it. "Someone by the name of 'Kotaro' documented stuff about Ryoumen Sukuna years ago. I scanned through the pages and they were extremely interesting to read. It was like a combination of both a diary and a report. Quite entertaining to be honest." Maki smirked, remembering what she read. Yuuji took the documents from the table and flipped the pages. "Well? Read them out loud!" Nobara yelled at him. "I don't want to read this much!" Yuuji whined. Megumi took it out of his hands and took the lead.

He scanned the first few pages before actually reading out the title. "The Hunt of Ryoumen Sukuna." Megumi paused and raised an eyebrow before continuing. "Current status: Alive. No other information has been assembled in order to seal him. I've located a suspicious figure that may be in the way of preventing us from sealing Ryoumen Sukuna. There's no other information about this person, aside from the fact that she may have some sort of... history with him. She has disappointed me. She wasn't supposed to be this way. It was his fault that she's with him. How could she switch sides like that?" Megumi stopped and moved on to another page scanning more of the information. "This sounds like he has a personal issue with Sukuna." Gojo commented from behind. "Suspicious figure current status: she's avoiding subjects that are related to Ryoumen Sukuna. I wish she could just come out clean to me. She has an aura that strongly belongs to Ryoumen Sukuna. I need to know why. She shouldn't have anything to do with him. She wouldn't do something to betray me... right?"

Nobara looked at Yuuji. "This guy seems to be infatuated with this woman, pretty weird." Everyone in the room agreed. "I discovered something interesting. It seems like she is the source of his weakness. I did something to her, and that curse got hurt. Perhaps... a bond of some sort? If my theory was correct, maybe there was a way to finally free everyone from him. I just needed to sacrifice her. I know she wouldn't forgive me, but I'm choosing to save the world over her." Megumi stopped reading all together, he took time to take in the information. "This sounds a bit sad, like a one-sided romance, but quite toxic." Megumi put a hand under his chin. This was quite a load of information. "You don't think that the woman this 'Kotaro' guy keeps mentioning is Y/N? Right?" Nobara concluded. "It actually matches up with the memories I received. Sukuna's lover was injured in the vision, and so was he. It lines up. This could actually be Y/N." Yuuji pointed out. "One thing I can't figure out is the part where he was talking about a bond. I think Y/N and Sukuna made a bond with each other?" Yuuji was unsure, but that was the only thing he could think of, but the question was why would they make a bond? And what was it about in the first place? "Maybe they still have a bond together?" Gojo crossed his arms, he gave his students an idea to wrap their heads around.
