This was a joke. This man in front of her was indeed not Kotaro. Kotaro was dead, she heard his scream, Uraume told her he died from his hand. So why did he look exactly like him? Did her memories alter? No, this was just a coincidence. This man just looked and gave off the same aura as Kotaro, but this was not him. She was sure of it. She would take her statement to her grave if she needed to. She shouldn't mix up and compare other people that seem to be similar to the people she met in the past. That was wrong. What was left behind stays behind.

The man that looked like Kotaro didn't say anything. He sat down next to Y/N and kept both of them dry. He didn't smile, and he didn't speak. This man was just like Kotaro when she met him. He was conserved and quiet. Although they didn't say a word to each other, Y/N felt comfortable in his presence, but she couldn't tell whether he was feeling the same. Looking back at him, his facial features looked exactly the same, but she was still unsure. This man didn't reply to her calling him 'Kotaro', maybe he didn't hear, or maybe it was Kotaro.

The rain started to die down, and all was left was the dew drops. The smell of petrichor filled the atmosphere and the sky was still dark and gloomy. Y/N sighed as there was no more rain, she looked over the man and he looked back at her. He really did look like Kotaro. Was she imagining things? Y/N's hands reached up cup both his cheeks. The man didn't know what she was doing and slightly moved away. Y/N noticed his discomfort but still proceeded to lean towards him to touch him. The man stopped moving and let her do what she wanted.

Her hands touched the sides of his face and gently caressed them. The man's face became visibly red and quickly took Y/N's hands off him. He looked away out of pure embarrassment. Y/N put her hands down and smiled. He was just like him. But who was he? His identity was unknown and she wanted to know who he really was. Was this actually Kotaro? Just one simple question, a question that needed a straight answer.

"Thank you for your act of kindness." The man still did not bat an eye towards her, but he did not dare to leave her. Y/N knew she couldn't follow him, she knew she couldn't be with this man, he wouldn't live long if she were to be with him. Sukuna would kill him on the spot if he knew she was with another man, well she thought he would. In all honesty, she didn't really know if he still cared for her, or if he would come for her. She was unsure of his decision.

'Kotaro' stood up and dusted himself. He then turned to face her and extended his arm to help her up. Y/N took the kind gesture and stood up beside him. Y/N walked over to stand in front of him and gave a respectful bow. The man turned away, but Y/N saw that his face had a look of worry. Why was he worried? There was nothing for him to be worried about. The man sighed, this was the first that Y/N heard a sound come out of his mouth. He sounded exactly like him. But if he truly was Kotaro, wouldn't he say that it was him by now? Why would he be hiding from her? Well, it would be good if he were to hide from her, that would make Y/N feel relief as he would be safe from Sukuna, safe from harm, he would be able to escape a new fate if he were to hide from her.

Y/N would do anything to prevent this man's death, she would not have a repeat of last time. She refused to. It was like the Gods gave her a second chance to take the right path, to make the right decision, and she was grateful for the redemption. In the end, she would have to leave him, she had no choice. This was the safest route to avoid ultimate despair. Separate herself from those who can potentially be harmed and all will be well. Even if she has to sacrifice herself in order to protect civilians from Sukuna.

But she was not a hero. She was simply a sacrifice for Sukuna. It was dreadful to have your faith be intertwined by this man, but that's what the God's wanted, they wanted her to be the one to be with him. No one else could have done it. Patience, time. These were the necessary things needed. Many people would agree with her.
