High School, First Time?

*Katara POV*

I was not into the idea of going to a school that I always had to be at. But what can you do? I've got to just get this over with. I walk over to my dorm and open the door. There is someone on the top bunk. She looks over at me and points to a poster above her head. It says "I use they/them pronouns. Please be respectful," Okay then. I guess that they ended up in the girls' dorm because they're AFAB. I had to end up with a weirdo, didn't I? I walk over to the single bed and start putting up posters. I was almost done when someone forcefully opens the door. Like slams it open.

"'Sup bitches! My name's Toph and I am TAKING the bottom bunk! You have no choice," She walks over to the bunk beds.

"That's good, cause that girl wanted the single and I'm happy up here," the freak says. Oh, come on. Don't get mad at me. Who actually thinks they are going to stay nonbinary?

"Well, that's good. What're y'all's names?" She sits down and yanks pillows out of her bag.

"My name's Nebula, and if you saw my poster, you'll know I use they/them pronouns," they once again pointed to the stupid thing.

"That's nice, Rockstar, but I can't see, so you can have whatever poster you want, and I won't care," She rips out what she was looking for and throws it on her bed.

"Rockstar?" They look down at Toph, not even mentioning that she's blind. Okay then.

"Yeah, I give everyone nicknames. Your name is from space, so Rockstar,"

"Well, my name's Katara. And I don't have any bizarre pronouns or anything. I'm very sorry that you're blind," I say, trying to be polite.

"That's nice Sugar Queen, but I don't really care that I'm blind. I can 'see' with earthbending, so I don't need your pity," She lies back on her bed.

"Oh! Cool, another bender! I a waterbender," I'm trying to make conversation when Toph interrupts me.

"Someone's at the door," She gets up and opens it. "What do you want Twinkle Toes?" She looks at the guy at the door. I look over. He's kinda cute.

"Umm, I'm here cause this is Nebula's dorm right? I'm Aang by the way," He holds out his hand.

"Don't bother Aang, she can't see you. Come on in," Nebula looks down from their bunk. 

"Hey! I didn't agree with this!"

"Get over it Sugar Queen. You're gonna let your boyfriend come in here too," Toph goes back to sitting on her bed. Aang floats? up to Nebula's bed. What? 

"Oh hey, you didn't mention that you were an airbender," They look at Aang.

"Well, you didn't ask silly," He smiles at them. I wish he would smile at me like that. Wait, what? I'm NOT getting jealous of a freak. 

"Hey Katara, why is your heartbeat going nuts?" Toph speaks up.

"What? No, it's not!" I look over at her.

"Yeah, just lie to the human lie detector. Great move Sweetness," What?

"Oh cool! You must have learned seismic sense from the badgermoles! I heard that some really powerful earthbending masters can do that," Aang loops under the bed and looks at Toph. She smiles.

"Yup. Unfortunately, since I learned in private, I'm not technically a master, but I am the most powerful earthbender in the world. I even learned a way to bend metal," She smirked at him.

"Oh wow, Toph! That's so cool! Oh, wait! That must be how you 'see'. With seismic sense! You are awesome!" He hangs upside down.

"I like you Twinkle Toes. After I'm done here, you and Rockstar wanna come to see my haunting grounds?"

"Sure! That sounds fun!" He sits back up and looks at Nebula. They smile.

"HEY! What about me?" I say before I get forgotten. I don't have attention issues, I just don't like being forgotten. (Katara does in fact, have attention issues)

"You can come too Sugar Queen," See? Not forgotten.
