Goofing Around

*Sokka POV*

I've had a feeling that Aang was the Avatar for a while now, but I guess it fell into the background. What with the stress of school and now the Jet situation. I should get some sleep though.

When I wake up in the morning, Aang is gripping his legs and sitting upright in bed.
"Did you get any sleep?" I ask him. A pillow hits my head.
"Shut up Sokka. People are trying to sleep here. My head is killing me," Zuko groans.
"You're the only one trying to sleep lazy bones. Come on, we have a day of goofing off to get to," Both Zuko and Aang groan.
"Can we wake ourselves up first? Since when were you even a morning person?" Zuko puts his face into a pillow.
"I'm not, but I wake up early when I have plans. Also, my sleep schedule is broken,"
"Your sleep schedule is broken? I've barely been able to sleep at night because of nightmares for 9 months, and I pass out in the middle of the day for no reason and YOUR sleep schedule is broken?"
"It's not a competition Aang, but if it was, you would've won by far," I reply. He drops his head to his knees.
"Can this be a day where I sleep all day instead of goof off?" Aang is pleading. But I have plans.
"NOPE! You can do that next Sunday,"
"Don't you have school work?" Ah, good point. But I have a plan for that too.
"No worries Zuko. I'll do it while you two are at the amusement park," Aang and Zuko exchange a look. They shrug.
"Fine. But we're going to bed early. And you can't eat any meat today," No meat? NO MEAT!? I have to make sacrifices though. Damn you Aang. Grr.
"Whatever, let's just go," I have to be vegetarian for a day. Noooooooo. I will do it.

Six hours of being vegetarian are done.
"How do you live like this Aang?" I grab his feet.
"Live like what?" He says while taking another bite of his cotton candy.
"NO MEAT!" I groan.
"It's been six hours Sokka," Zuko glances at me. He's eating a kabob.
"Why do you get to eat meat? And it's been six hours of seeing delicious meat around every turn!"
"I don't obsess on it. And we did that on purpose. We found the meatiest area," Zuko replies.
"Aang, you approved of this?" I ask him.
"Yeah. We planned it while you did your homework. It's hilarious," Aang says.
"You're both evil,"
"No, you're just way too obsessed with meat. This is a lesson on obsession," Zuko takes another bite of his meat. I can't take it anymore. I jump up trying to grab it. I growl. Primal urges have begun to kick in. I'm a snow leopard now. Aang separates us with airbending.
"Cut it out Sokka. I'll shorten your sentence to when we get back to the dorm," He holds me away from Zuko.
"Noooooooo," I cry. "I need meat now,"
"Shut up now Sokka, or I'm making it till morning again," He's trying harder to restrain me now.
"Fine. But we have to stop walking through meat alley," I agree.
"Actually, this is Little Fire Nation," Zuko replies.
"There is literally nothing vegetarian here," Aang sticks out his tongue.
"Ba Sing Se's middle ring has a Little Fire Nation?" I ask.
"Yeah, whenever I miss home, I come here. It's not as often as you would think," Zuko looks at the setting sun. It's really pretty.
"I guess home isn't as sweet as it could be for you," I put a hand on his shoulder. He smiles at me and rests his head on my hand. I'm liking this a little more than I should.
"Yeah. But this is my home now," He's so sweet and misunderstood. Agh. Do I really like him that way? My face is bright red. Aang notices and points at me and laughs silently. I mouth "Shut up" at him. This makes his silent laughter even harder. I grimace. I guess I asked for this.

Once Zuko is done being comforted, we head for pride shop. I've wanted to check it out since Aang and Zuko mentioned it. I haven't been to a pride shop. Maybe I can find a few pins to put on my bag. I look down at my hand. Zuko is still holding it. I blush. Luckily, Aang is too busy keeping up his facade or just being joyful, I can't tell, to notice. We walk through the doors. I walk over to the pins, with Zuko still attached.
"You've got... quite the grip," I say. He looks down at our hands and turns bright red.
"I'm sorry, I didn't even notice," He tries to pull his hand away but I grab onto it.
"It's fine. I can tell it's comforting you," Zuko smiles at me. I grin. I got Zuko to smile.
