2 weeks later.

<Tobias' POV>

Tris nearly lost her job as a trainer as a result to intervening in the fight. The Dauntless leaders let her off easy, much to Eric's disappointment. The abnegation girl that Tris likes, Monique, just barely passed the physical stage of training. Tris loves this girl more than she should. Tris has almost taken on the responsibility of her like a mentor. I'm happy that she likes her, but I hope Tris doesn't get to attached, because if Monique doesn't make it through training she will be cut and leave forever, leaving Tris heartbroken.

The Erudite haven't made a move yet, but I'm sure it could happen at any moment. Tris is still in my apartment, for her own safety in case the Erudite invade. I just don't want anything to happen to my beautiful Beatrice.

<Tris's POV>

I walk Monique out of her mental training. "You'll get better, I promise," I say trying to reassure her. She jut nods her head. Monique and I are good friends she loves me and I love her, but we don't show our friendship in front of other initiates. I let Mo go back to the initiate quarters and head back to Four and I's apartment to wash up. I start to run because my lunch threatens to make a reappearance. I make it into the bathroom just in time. Luckily Four wasn't in the apartment to see me. He is probably out with Zeke or something. I finish puking and flush the vile substance down the toilet. Before I can do anything else, a huge bang knocks me to the floor.

<Tobias's POV>

The force interrupts my conversation with Zeke and makes me trip over my own feet. Screaming erupts from across the pit. I instantly know a bomb has been sent off and there are more coming for sure. Suddenly everyone around me except for a few stand up straight and start to walk towards where the bomb was set off. They must be under a simulation, but how? I sprint into the cafeteria and look at the water glasses left on the table. There is an orange tint to them.

The serum must be in the water. I yell in frustration and run back into the pit. The divergents of Dauntless run around frantically, confused as to why they aren't under the serum. To my left I see Erudite's handing out guns to the Dauntless that are under the simulation. I set my mind on one task. To find Tris. I start sprinting to my apartment. Another bomb is set of. This one right behind me. Glass shatters from store windows. The tiny teeth pierce my back and I fall face first into the hard rock ground. Cautiously, I tilt my head up and see a flash of blonde. Screaming and bloody, I force myself up from the ground and go to Tris, her name echoing from my lips. She whips her head around at me. The guns from our apartment are in her hands and she passes me one.

"We have to find our friends!" She screams over the yelling around us. The Divergents run for the exits. I shake my head.

"There's no time we need to leave the compound," I yell. She looks taken back.

"No, we find them first!" She yells in protest. I look at her worried eyes and that's what convinces me to stay. I sigh and nod my head. "I'll find Monique, Christina, Lynn, and Marlene, you find Zeke, Uriah, Will, and Shauna, meet us at the exits," Tris orders I agree to the plan and start my desperate search. Tris and I part ways as the Dauntless under the simulation shoot at us. The only thing that takes my attention away from dodging the bullets is someone shouting my name. I turn to my right and see Uriah. Of course I knew he was Divergent, but I'm surprised I found him this fast.

"Uriah!"

"Four! Zeke and Shauna, they are over there but they won't listen to me," Uriah complains. I see he also hold a loaded gun. I tell him to follow me to them. I sneak up behind Zeke and Shauna and knock them out with my guns. They never would of followed us if they were conscious. Uriah and I drag the pair to the exit. We stand there for what seems like twenty minutes. Another bomb has gone off and I am seriously worried about Tris.

"I'm going to find Tris, stay here!" I order Uriah. He nods and I head back into hell. There are surprisingly a lot of Divergents in Dauntless. I never knew how many people were like me. The thing that takes me from my thoughts is Tris sitting amongst the crowd next to a lifeless body. I recognize the person as Monique. Tears run down Tris's face. I run to her and pick her up.

"She was divergent and now she's dead," Tris mumbles. I'm not soft on her I help her up and force her to help me find Christina, Marlene, and Lynn as fast as we can.

The floors are starting to crumble beneath us. I am just about to give up on searching for the trio of girls. I pull Tris close to me. "We need to go, we'll die if we don't get out now." Tris starts to cry again. Why is she being so damn emotional.

"But-" she starts, but I interrupt her.

"No, we need to go," I scream at her. She gives in and we start our sprint back. Soon I remember that I forgot to get Will. I sigh, but there's no going back now. Right when we are almost to the exit I see Christina struggling to walk. She holds a gun, but she doesn't act like she is a soldier. I take a deep breath. Christina is a divergent. I take a quick look at Tris and see she is wondering the same thing. We run up to her and I see why she was struggling to walk. She is carrying an unconscious Will on her back.

Tris and I run even faster up to her. She grimaces at us and I take that as my cure to take Will. Holding hands, Tris and Chris lead me through the crowd with the weight of Will on my back. My heart pumps in my chest, but I force myself to keep running. Just when I think I'll be okay, another bomb goes off. The ceiling of the compound comes crashing down. We just barely make it through the exit to meet the rest of our friends. Minus Lynn and Marlene, who we never found. I drop Will and lay on the ground in exhaustion.

"Come on Four we have to run, the Dauntless under the serum will be coming soon," Uriah shouts in a panic. He is right so in result, Chris, Tris, Uriah, and I gather up and carry our unconscious friends out into the open. I hear the trains screeching across the track coming closer to us. As soon as we can we carefully jump into the train. Final we have a few minutes to sit and relax. Tomorrow we will figure out what to do, but for now all we can do is think about how lucky we are that we got out.

A/N INTENSE I KNOW. Next chapter will hopefully explain more about the battle. Have fun soaking this in.
