<Tris's POV>

We sit on the train for what seems like forever. Monique is dead. Lynn and Marlene are probably dead. My best friend is actually divergent. Uriah is to. I am alive even though I probably shouldn't be. It's a miracle we got out of the collapsing compound.

My hand is grasped tightly in Tobias's. His back is bleeding from under his shirt and onto the train floor. The red almost a black color. Like oil seeping from the cracks of a container. I would ask him if he's okay but I'm really not in the mood to talk to anyone.

"So where exactly are we going?" Christina says, breaking the comforting silence. Tobias sighs.

"Amity, it's the only place we have stable relations with really, besides they're nice enough to let us in," Tobias exclaims. I ignore his ongoing conversation and instead focus on Uriah. He sits in the corner of the cart. His eyes are watering, red and puffy. Quivering, his lips take short breaths.

Slowly I get up and walk over to him. I sit next to Uriah. "What's wrong?" I croak. He glares up at me, his dark chocolate eyes looking unforgiving and mean.

"What's wrong? You really want me to tell you? Lynn is probably dead! I had to see my brother get knocked in the head with a gun! My mom could be dead! We have no compound and the girl I love is probably dead and I never even got to express my love for her! That's what's wrong Tris, so how's your day?" He says sarcastically. The hurt burns in my chest. I grab the collar of his shirt and pull his face close to mine.

"Listen here asshole, Lynn and Marlene were my friends to, Monique was my friend, my parents are dead, my friends were knocked out to, Dauntless was my home to! So Uriah don't think I don't know what this feels like!" I say releasing his shirt. I feel sorry right after I sounded so harsh, but I really meant it. His dark brown eyes just look at mine. Eventually we both start crying and embrace in a tight hug. Chris and Tobias look at us, but don't say a word until Tobias yells that we have arrived at the Amity compound. Gathering up an unconscious Shauna, Zeke, and Will into our arms we jump out of the train and run to the big entrance of Amity. Adrenaline pumps through my veins, drugging my body. Almost tricking me into thinking that I am strong.

Despite my excavating pulse  I knock on the door softly, not wanting to alarm the kind people. The leader of Amity opens the door. Her eyes widen at the sight of our tired and worn bodies.

"Please, come in," she says hurrying us into the compound with the swish of her hand. Cautiously we follow the women into a small office and tells us to sit.

"Why are you here? For assistance?" The women asks. I recognize her as Johanna Reyes.

"You could call it that, our compound has been taken over and the Erudite are supposedly hunting divergents, we were wondering if we could hide out here?" Tobias explains. The kind leader says of coarse and tells two other Amity members to lead us to our rooms.

We walk over the uneven wooden floorboards into a hallway filled with small rooms. Tobias and I get one, Will and Chris get one, and Uriah, Zeke, and Shauna get one.

We all meet up in Christina and Will's room, waiting for him to wake up. Sitting there seemingly took hours, but really it took seconds for his brown eyes to pop open. Will takes in a deep breath and looks at us.

"Where are we?" He asks. Christina giggles and cuddles up on his side.

"We're at Amity, seeking refuge," she explains softly. I nudge Tobias as if to tell him to leave with Uriah and I to go into the room with Zeke and Shauna.

Entering the room, I see the two have just woken up.

"Uriah!" Zeke shouts running over to his brother. The two form a tight embrace. I take Tobias's hand and squeeze it. We quietly retire back to our room. Besides, I don't want to see the look on Shauna's face when she finds out Lynn didn't make it.

I could never imagine loosing a sibling at such a young age.

A/N The irony in the last line right😂

Sorry for the quality and length! Love yall.
