<Tris's POV>

Blood. It's everywhere, splattered on my face, running down my arm, staining Christina's side, coloring Zeke's shoulder in a crimson color. I taste it in my mouth and I swear I smell the odor coming from the dead bodies of the dauntless traitors. Everyone is shouting around me. Yet, all I hear are soft whispers. I watch as they all scramble to wrap the wounds in Zeke and Christina's bodies. Although my arm is bleeding I find myself quite content, my mind fuzzing as if I'm in a dream.

Once everyone has stopped running around like ants, they start to gather our supplies and take weapons off the traitors bodies. I just sit on my knees, slouched, and careless. Lynn walks up to me and I watch her yell at me. I see her mouth moving but I don't hear the words. Marlene joins in trying to get me to get up so we can get moving, but I just stay there unable and unwilling to move. Next thing I know, Uriah is walking towards me, his leg no longer broken. Confusion. It's the first thing I have felt in the haze.

Arms wrap around me and my body is lifted up. Everyone starts moving across the remainder of the bridge while I enjoy the swinging sensation that is going on because Uriah is walking so fast. I watch my whole world swing around me. My hair reaches for the ground like little hands trying to make homes in the cracks of the pavement. After what seems like hours I see some familiar faces flash by, helping our wounded. If only I could tell them to go back and search the river for his body. In total honesty I'm not feeling up to talking. We are rushed through crowds off people in all different colors. Not just black, or grey, or blue etc., but every color imaginable. But they aren't the factionless. That much I can tell from my perspective from Uriah's arms.

My hearing slowly begins to return. In fact my whole comatose state seems to be slipping away. The pain returns to my arm, I hear the concerned voices around me, I feel the sweat dripping off of Uriah, I smell his familiar scent that clings to his clothing. Even though I'm back into the world of the conscious I don't ask Uriah to put me down. As it turns out, no amount of physical pain can match how painful mental and emotional hurt is.

My love is dead, his body floating away in that river, probably mutilated and bloody. Tears slip down my face. Tobias. His name is stuck in my head like an annoying song. The one I couldn't save because I was to weak. At least now he doesn't have to endure this world.

<Tobias's POV>(surprise mother fuckers)

I wake up on the river bank, a bandage on my leg, soaked in blood. My head is pounding and my back is so sore I know it will take me a while to get up. I jump out of my own skin when a voice comes from behind me.

"Your lucky I saved your ass." I recognize the voice quickly. A laugh emerges from my lips.

"You of all people, saved me?" I ask rhetorically.

"The way I see it, if I save you I'm accepted in that building on the other side of the bridge, you know all asshole gone from my record," Peter explains as he comes and sits next to me.

"So what happened? Did I break anything?" I ask. Peter scoffs.

"Oh please, you never even touched the water, you see the Erudite make this contraption that sets up like a force field type thing and all you have to do is shoot this gun thing," Peter explains.

"Aren't you great at describing things," I say smirking slightly.

"You best behave, I saved your ass, oh and by the way, your leg is fine, it'll hurt for a while but the erudite also make a serum that heals you in seconds unless the injury is lethal," Peter explains. All in all, I owe a lot to Peter right now. Now I can find Tris. Tris!

"Peter we have to get moving!" I yell alarmed and trying and failing to sit up.

"Ya not gunna happen, the Erudite are picking up the dead bodies on the bridge, besides your back needs to stretch a little before you get moving, the impact from the force field really hit your back and head," Peter defends. I sigh in complaint. I don't enjoy being this helpless.

"Did I pass out?"

"You were unconscious for two days." I gasp and then want to punch something. Anger towards the Erudite grows inside me and all I want to do is win this war. "So what next?"

A/N So this is an extremely short chapter but I really wanted to post so you guys wouldn't ditch my book because you thought Tobias died. Sorry for that scare by the way.
