28|"Beatrice He Isn't Dead!"

<Tris's POV>

I drop my gun quickly and so does my brother. He opens his arms for me and I don't hesitate to run into them. My arms wrap around his shoulders and I hold him close to me. Tears begin to pour down my face. "Oh Caleb you have no idea how much I have to tell you," I say into his shoulder. It now I realize he probably doesn't know about our parents death.

"I know more than you think, as soon as I got to Erudite I figured out their plan, I sent spies into Dauntless to watch over you, they told me everything, I've been looking for you everywhere," he says taking a sigh of relief. I look at him once again when I pull my arms away from his neck. Black clothes, holding a gun like its the most natural thing for him to do. He notices what I'm looking at. "Oh ya, there was a Dauntless transfer that I befriended and he taught me a few things, I'm practically Dauntless myself, I just have more access to information," Caleb explains. I smile and once again hug the only family I have left. "So what are you doing out here?" My face darkens.

"Looking for her dead boyfriend, my best friend who is dead on the river bank," Zeke says, being the first one to speak up. Caleb looks back down to me and frowns.

"Beatrice I'm so sorry, I heard about his relationship with you, what was his name? Four..." His voice trails off like he is in deep thought.

"Caleb?" I asked confused. His eyes widen.

"His name is Four!" Caleb shouts. I raise an eyebrow.

"Ya technically why?" I ask confused. What could possibly be so great about my dead boyfriends name being Tobias or Four. Caleb smiles widely.

"Beatrice he isn't dead!" My brother shouts. What does he mean. I saw Tobias fall. His hand slipped from mine. My heart is broken because of it. If Caleb is messing with me I will actually kill him.

"What do you mean he isn't dead?" Uriah asks. Caleb looks directly at me. I look into his dark eyes with hope.

"There are messages about a mile from here, they cover just about everything, they said, 'Tris I'm alive, I'm looking for you -4'," Caleb informs me. My heart stops and I actually have to sit down. All of these days of thinking the one person I have ever truly loved is dead. All of that time I was lying to myself. "Is that what you call yourself now, Tris? I like it," Caleb was getting off topic.

"Not the time," Christina says. Caleb nods and then looks to me. I smile widely.

"We have to go look for him, I have to find him, he's alive Tobias is alive!" I scream. Caleb looks at me confused.

"Who the hell is Tobias?"

"Four."

"What's his real name?"

"Tobias."

"Then what's Four?"

"His dauntless name!" We all shout in unison.

"Why four?"

"Four fears now please more importantly, I'm going to go and find the one I love," I say while standing up and picking up my gun. Lynn comes up behind Caleb.

"Ya hottie, it's about time we get moving," she says as she pats his chest. I roll my eyes and smile at her. Caleb raises his eyebrows at Lynn.

"Your confident," he says. Lynn looks back at him.

"Tell me something I don't know." I've never seen Lynn act like this, all flirty. It's like she likes Caleb, which is weird. Uriah gags at the two and then takes Marlene's hand.

We look around for hours and find nothing. It's dark and we can barely see in front of us. Caleb has a flashlight that he lets us use. The white light shines shakily as I hold it. We continue to walk around desperately trying to find Tobias. I began to get discouraged that we won't ever find him. I feel a hand on my back and look around to see Christina. "Hey, we'll find him, I promise," she says smiling. I force a weak smile at my best friend and nod.
