Your POV

I'm in my office, working on some paperwork when I suddenly receive a message. I check the screen of my phone and my face lights up when I see who it's from. I quickly tap on it to see the message.

Jibeom:
Hey. Is it okay if we meet at noon? I have something I wanna talk to you about.

You:
Sure. What place?

Jibeom:
The café near your office. Is that okay?

You:
Yup. See you there at noon!

Jibeom:
I love you.

You:
Aw... I love you, too.

A smile is on my face as I read Jibeom's last message... then I notice his first.
He wants to talk about something... I wonder what.

...

Noon finally arrives, and I head out of the building towards the café nearby to meet up with Jibeom. I notice the place is almost empty as I walk through the door, and I start looking around for Jibeom.

"Y/N!" I hear a bright voice say from behind me and I turn around to see Jibeom entering through the door I walked past just a while ago. "Looks like we arrived around the same time," he tells me optimistically, a bright smile on his face.

I smile as well. I just can't help it everytime he smiles like that. It's almost as if his smile is contagious. "Yup. We sure did," I tell him with a chuckle.

"Shall we take our seats?" he asks, gesturing to the table we ate at last time and I smile and nod. Soon enough, we're waiting for our food after the waiter had taken our orders.

I look towards Jibeom to see that he seems nervous as he fiddles with his fingers while looking out the window. My brows furrow. "Is something wrong? You look bothered. Is it about what you want to tell me?" I ask him with concern.

Jibeom turns to me, his eyes slightly wide yet showing that he really really wants to tell me something. "Is it okay if I say it now? You might not like it," he tells me.

I just smile simply at him as I stretch my hand out to place it on his hand which was on the table. "Don't worry about it. I promise you that I'll listen to what you have to say first," I tell him reassuringly.

He looks at me for a second, then breathes out before speaking. "I-I... I'm being forced to get married."

My eyes widen and I freeze. The hand I had placed on Jibeom's must have stiffened, causing him to notice my reaction as he looks at me with an apologetic look. "W-what do you mean?" I ask him, trying to be as calm as I can. "Who's forcing you to get married? And to whom?"

Jibeom looks down guiltily as he pulls his hand away from mine. "I'm sorry, Y/N. It's just that... my father... I just can't seem to bring myself to disobey him. I mean, I talk back, but when it comes to acting against him, it's like... I don't even own my own body." I notice him starting to break down and I feel my heart break at seeing him like this.

I stand up from my seat and go to him, sitting beside him then placing my arms around him. I pull him towards me in an embrace and let him cry on my shoulder. He does so as quietly as he can as I gently pat his shoulder. "Don't worry. I know you think I'm mad but I promise you I'm not. I know you didn't want this to happen as well." I hear Jibeom continue crying and I look at him with sad eyes.
